After being away from home for nearly a month, actress Esha Deol has been suffering from homesickness. She wanted mummy, so mummy Hema Malini flew down to London promptly to give her company. The two will spend a week with each other.
Esha has been globe-trotting for her Rockstars concert. This is the first time that Esha is travelling unaccompanied by her mother. Although initially she felt that her exhaustive schedules would leave her with no time to miss or think about home, within a week, she began craving for her home and family. "I am very attached to my mother," she says from London. "Once in a while I used to Ahana and dad from the US. But it goes without saying that my mom means the world to me."
Hema Malini, who is juggling acting, dance and a political career, had to do a lot of planning to find time to join Esha in London. "It wasn't a planned vacation. I have shifted to Goregaon and I still have to set up my house. But when I spoke to Esha, I realised that she has got 'Mama sickness', so I decided to drop everything to be with her," says Hema Malini.
Hema is looking forward to spending time with her daughter and is happy that she will also be able to see Esha perform. Does she approve of Esha dancing to her own tracks, something Hema never did even once in her 30-year film career? "Well, times has changed. Now most of Esha's contemporaries are performing to their film tracks. Esha is undoubtedly one of the best dancers we have in our industry and if she enjoys doing it, why should I stop her?" says Hema.
So, what does the holiday itinerary look like? "We are planning to watch some good films, shop and binge at the latest eateries. We have been to London so many times that we don't need to sightsee. So, we will just chill out," she replies.
