Chapter 54

"You know what Mr. Khurana, you're right. The story is true only the characters need to change", she said, and saying so , she kissed the collar of his shirt and then kissed his shirt on the shoulder and on his chest.

He stood there shocked. She looked back at him and said, "She does not have the guts to do this, Maan. I'm sorry I had to mess up with your shirt to make your story a truth. Don't worry I'll get you a new shirt".

"Geet tum fast track pe chal rahin ho, thoda sambhal ja", he said.

Geet laughed and said, "Maan main fast nahin hoon, aap slow hain".

He walked towards the couch and sat down and she came and sat beside him. "Waise maan aap bahut seedha bhi hain".

Maan smiled and said, "Itna vishwaas mat karo mujhpe. Kahin maine do time kiya toh?"

"Aap aur do time? Ho hi nahin sakta", said Geet confidently. "aapko aurton se nafrat hain, jab dekhon, tum aurten karke shuru ho jaate hain. Aur aap do teen aurton ko ek baar manage kar lenge? Maan Khurana aap sirf do teen companies ko aur meetings ko aur clients ko ek saath handle kar sakte hain, aurton ko nahin", she said, point blank.

"Hmm, theek hain", he said, not wanting to argue anymore. She was right to a certain extent. He could handle everything on the planet, but women. He never understood them and he tried to stay away from them. They confused him and he confused them, so the confusion was very mutual and hence Maan Khurana, never got along with women. He was only adored as the most eligible bachelor in town, who was handsome, rich, hard-working, a man with a set of cardinal principles that he would never let go.

Nanda House

"Haan Dad, mujhe Geet pasand hain, maine usse ek client ke office mein mila tha", said Anurag, standing against the door while his father Ritheish and mother Revathy sat on the couch, in the living room, of their house.

"Lekin beta, tum usse aur ek baar mil lo. Acchi ladki hain, aur khaandaan bhi acchi hain", said Revathy.

Yeah, your mom's right. Tum log agar miloge, toh ek dusre ke bare mein aur jaan loge", said his father.

Anurag nodded and his father spoke up, "Theek hain phir, main Devnashi Handa se keh doonga kit u Geet se milna chahta hain aur baat karna chahta hain. Who abhi Delhi mein hi hain, toh tum mil sakte ho".

"Ji", said Anurag.

"Aur waise bhi tumhein ladki pasand hain, toh usse milne ke baad uski pasand bhi jaan lenge", said Revathy.

Anurag agreed and said, "Mom, waise woh bhi mujhe pasand karegi. Mujhe yakeen hain", he said, confidently.

Khurana Mansion

"Happy Diwali", said Kiara, as she took the call, half asleep.

"So rahen ho kya?", asked Kunal.

"Haan", she said.

"Okies, main baad mein phone karta hoon. Happy Diwali to you, too", he said.

"Agar tum chaho toh hum baat kar sakte hain", said Kiara, in a gruffy voice, clearing her throat.

"Nahin baad mein baat karenge. Tum aaram se so jao", he told her and hung up.

On the other hand, Dev and Naintara were in their bedroom. Dev was lying down on the bed, but was thinking of something. Naintara was asleep and suddenly she woke up and found Dev in deep thought.

"Kya hua? Dint you sleep?", she asked, moving closer to him.

He put his hand around her and pulled her closer and said, "Nahin, kuch soch rahan tha".

"Kya?", she asked.

"Kiara", is all he said.

"Oho Dev aap itna kyun soch rahen ho?", asked Naintara, looking at him.

"Because I think she is up to something. She's on phone for an unusually long time and is awake late night. These days, even after office she does not come straight home. She's been using a separate car and refuses to come home with me or with bro".

NT suddenly remembered Kiara talking about Kunal and wondered if he was the reason. She did not speak anything to Dev about him, because she knew how possessive both the brothers were about their sister. She wanted to confirm with Kiara once, before opening her mouth in front of Dev. However, for now, she had to sidetrack the topic.

She smiled and said, "Dev aapki behen aapse kuch nahin chupaayegi. Aap fikar mat kijiye". She held his hand and assured him.

"I hope you're right, Naintara", he said and closed his eyes, holding her hand back.

Naintara took a deep breath and relaxed for sometime.

Nakul walked into Daadima's room with some juice and water.

Daadima was reading a magazine and told him, "Wahan side table pe rakhiye". NAkul nodded and left the juice and water on the side table. He was about to walk out, when she stopped him.

"Geet gayi ghar?", she asked, Nakul.

"Ji nahin Daadiji", he told her and walked out of the room.

"Hmm, okay", she thought and continued reading her magazine. She stopped reading after sometime and picked up the receiver and called Nakul again.

"Geet kahan hain?", she asked him.

Ji, maine dekha unhe Maan Sir se baat karte hue. Shayad wahin hain", he told her.

"Theek hain, Hum Maan ko phone karte hain" and hung up.

Maan's room

"Geet internship kaisa chal rahan hain?", he asked, her.

"Maan I would think I was the one who would question others so much and torture them, but looks like you've beaten me", she complained.

"I learnt it from you. All these good habits you know, talking too much, irritating others, questioning others too much, all your valuable gifts", he said.

"Haan, how could I get away from this mansion and from you without being taunted", she said.

"Anytime sweetheart. You ask for it and you will get it, in any quantity, anytime", he said, smirking.

"Thanks", he said,"Answer my question".

"I'm not. You always taunt me", she said.

"One last question, answer na", he told her.

"Its going great. Learnt a lot about Liability Insurance and covered certain policies too", she said, lazily.

"Okay", he said and wondered if he had to ask anything else.

Before he could tell her something, his intercom begain to ring. Geet walked towards the balcony and pushed open the balcony doors.

"Dadima", he said softly, answering the call.

"Geet wahan hain", she asked, straight away.

"Na hi na hello, seedha "geet wahan hain"", he said.

"Haan, I don't believe in wasting time over useless talk Mr. Khurana", she said, proudly.

"Useless talk? Mrs. Savitri Singh Khurana thinks telling hi and hello to her grandson as useless? How wonderful?", he said, angrily.

"Maan, geet ko phone do", she said, rolling her eyes.

Maan simply walked to the balcony and handed over the phone to Geet and she said, "Kaun hain?"

Maan angrily yelled, "Teir hone waali saans. Karo karo baat karo".

Daadima smirked while Geet took the phone puzzled.

"Hello", she said, softly.

"Geet", came Daadima's voice.

"Ji aap Daadima", said Geet, smiling.

"Ji aap Daadima", mocked Maan, trying to imitiate her. She shot him a serious look and he made a face at her and walked away, into the bedroom.

"Geet, come and meet me before you go home", she told her.

"Sure Daadiji. How could I go without meeting you", she asked.
