Kesar was the only one who probably was not exposed to the full impact of Vasant's death!!! And therefore even he did not know how his love for Vasant and Gulaal fully channelized towards Gulaal!! (Ironically, he had paid fully for this discount...he had to live with a secret and a betrayal..fighting the wrong and being wronged inside his heart for such long period of time, all alone too!)
But back to the topic ... Looking at the circumstances those being - PB was not there...MB was also unconscious, and the whole Giga family had ganged up against them...It was them against the world...The worst phase of their life actually turned out to be the best base for Kesar Gulaal that we saw...Why he said 'Tu meri pareshaani hai!' ...Why her not noticing him, created such havoc in his mind, why he lamented about her world not revolving around him anymore!! Whilst at some stage, if anybody would have been a casual viewer, would have rated as his obsession, If one would see this stage, one would understand that it was relationship at its best...They were friends, the best of them, each other's anchors, Kavach's...and over and above all..they became SOULMATES!
