Abhay Deol turns singer

Is he trying to emulate Farhan Akhtar?

Abhay Deol was last heard crooning to the 'Senorita' song in 'Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara' (ZNMD). It appears that that the experience has brought out the singer in him. Now, Abhay will lend his voice to another song in his next film 'Rock The Shaadi' (earlier titled 'Shaadi Of The Dead'). Perhaps he is trying to be an all-rounder like his ZNMD co-star Farhan Akhtar who can sing as well as he can act.

But while he admitted he was very amateurish and couldn't manage the notes well in 'Zindagi… this time the actor doesn't want to leave anything to chance. That is the reason why he has been undertaking professional singing lessons and has been practicing a lot instead of just depending on electronic devices to make him sound good.

Abhay, who plays a member of a rock band in the film, will be seen opposite Genelia D'Souza. Rock The Shaadi is being produced by Ekta Kapoor and directed by Navdeep Singh.
