But why cant they leave a phone number at the stall? The reason she did not leave a phone number is because she already made the decision to pass off the child as the old man's granddaughter. If she had honest intentions she would have left her phone number at the stall.I have no issues with ichcha picking up the child -- but by the same token she should only have taken the child if she could bring up the child herself (without deceitfully trying to pass of the child as the old man's grand daughter). If she could not bring up the child herself on her own income, and her own strength - then she should have given it up to the anathaashram.
However, she did try to find out who the parents were...I think Damini or someone checked with the chai wala again after a few days.
BTW: It is OK for Iccha and Veer to adopt Kanha but I feel they need not jump into legally adopting Mukku as her origins are still uncertain. Her biological parents might turn up any day! You would not want to put a child thro the trauma of having to choose between her biological and adoptive parents.
One more point and a rather important one at that - As a practicing psychologist with 12 yrs of work behind me, I would NOT like Mukku returned to Taps though until we are sure about Taps parenting skills. People were wondering if she will recognize her 9 mth baby thro' her cries. They forget - Taps ignored her new born baby's cries when she was lying right next to her after birth. She was busy daydreaming about Veer. If a mother who has just given birth can ignore the cries of her new born baby, she is incapable of recognizing that baby after 9ths and after being separated from it with no physical or emotional bonding having ever been developed.
