I am not an idealist, but also don't agree dat U hv to be sly, conniving, ruthless, without conscience to hv ur way nd 2 acheive ur ends by any means, however correct nd noble dat end maybe. In business, still all this can be overlooked,( but by no means should be overlooked), as it's a cut-throat world out there, but in relationships, no ways.
But thats his character .šš And if he is not like that , show will flop .
Take away IMV and MB flops . Who is interested in seeing a fair , sudhra hua IMV ?š

Infact Muneera I wud put it the other way round . In business one can afford to lose a deal or two , somewhere it can be picked up again and life will go on , money will flow in with another project .
But in personal relationships if matter gets out of hand , LIFE gets destroyed .
Thats the reason many Indian parents r very strict about the choices their children make . Why they insist on good Khandaan , good sanskaars , Good qualities .Left to the youth , jawani ka josh of the children , they will straightaway go for looks as the criteria .š They will read angel like qualities in the most mundane of actions of their loved ones . Just like Vaibhav did . Sabina ne yeh sikhaya and Sabina ne woh sikhaya . I was like ...bloody hell , Sabina was there for only one measly month in which she took a strong stand that HER bastiwallahs get the best deal . And she got it . In that one month kya kya sikhayegi ?šš What Vaibhav claims he learnt from Sabina , was there all around him even before Sabina steped in his life . His beautiful mom was doing one noble social work after another just like Sabina ...his grandparents were down to earth people who ate gathiyas and roadside food with relish ...just like Sabina sucked sweets and golas . Grandpa showed love to Grandma by tying gajras etc . Zindagi jeena was all around Vaibhav . He was not seeing it . Like sonali very rightly said , he saw it when someone talked about it flippantly to him in a seductive red sari .š
So much he has given credit to Sabina , has he ONCE , till PK fired him , given credit to Devki for the innumerable things she did for him ? He was blind as a bat to them . Itna khudgarz , itna ehsaanfaramosh he was . Utha li Bag aur chal pada SAbina ke peeche . Na Devki ki parva ki na Maa Baap ki . Big Lover Boy .Huh .
IMV can afford to lose a business deal what he cannot aford is his son throwing away his life and legacy for sumone thoroughly unsuitable for his legacy and life . Sabina was challenging him to take Vaibhav away and give him some crores to start a new business ...IMV was gonna take that from a film actress who walked in his son's life just a month back ? He had build this all to pass it on to his sons and here was this actress , threatening indirectly to topple it ALL by taking that very son away .
To top it ,,,,,,,,,the culture in which she had been raised . That conservative Gujju family wud be ok with that kind of bahu ? I am not talking od stupid Sid , Baa and Master here ...I am talking in general . Which traditional gujju family , this rich , wud be ok accepting an elder , linked up , different religion actress whose mom posed for po*n photos ?
I can fully understand why he came down hard and cut this at the root ...Son had bluntly told him he wud not listen . So he went to the other source ...Sabina ...and MADE her listen . His POV was simple ...he did not want to lose HIS son , nor did he want this alliance to take place . So he found a way in which both objectives were met ...son remained with him , and the actress only walked out .
Perhaps it was wrong . But he is Vaibhavs father . He was not gonna stand by and let him make a foolish choice . He was not gonna stand and see Vaibhav becoming a neurotic mess around Sabina like a jealous gigolo while she provided him crores for business by continuing to act in films . Vaibhav wud have taken that money and HATED it at the same time ...he wud never have been able to bear that film atmosphere and men touching Sabina on screen or off screen . Very honestly speaking , Sabina wud have emasculated Vaibhav unintentionally and he wud have been miserable .
I have seen many Indian parents do what IMV did ...when sons did not listen , they have approached the unsuitable girl and told her to get out . Now he went a step further and ENSURED she wud get out as he is a man in that position .
Neither was he interested in pursuing the revenge on Sabina nor did he have personal hatred for her . He simply wanted her out of his son's life , bas . the blackmail was only till THAT point . Once she moved out , he was least interested in messing up her life or teaching her lessons .
I am not justifying him ,I merely read him as serial goes on . His primary purpose in selecting D u say was revenge but I differ there too . It was way more complex and interwined , that purpose . All I wud say is if IMV is a beast as some say šš it must be remembered , even the beasts don't hurt their young , they pick it up with their sharp teeth and place them in a secure spot . Even in that revenge , IMV did NOT hurt Vaibhav . He got the best deal for him . He told Charu ...I wud never sell Nirali for business profit , I will see she gets the best . He was truthful there . He will never do nuksaan of his babies .
Indulging every whim of his babies , even if they don't promise a good future for them , is NOT his way of loving them . His way is looking out for them , not going along with them .
U asked why he jeopardised Devki's Swing Air deal when he picked her up for her business flair . Simple . He wanted Devki by HIS side , profiting HIS family by becoming one with HIS family . Had Devki won the Swing Air Deal for Vaibhav Group , he wud NEVER have jeopardised her attempt . She did it for Chandraprabha Enterprises , egged on by that trouble maker Baa , who instead of telling her that working AGAINST ur husband right at the outset of ur marraige won't work in the long run , however idealistic it sounds ...merge the two companies and work side by side with him ...bring real happiness in the house ...to urself and to this house both ...egged her on to stand AGAINST IMV simply coz she personally wanted to crush her son's ego .
Son was egoistic but son was not harming Devki , he wanted Devki to run his company for him by giving her considerable power . Son even wanted Devki and Vaibhav to have happy marital life . He had no problems with that .
IMV is very complex and his means offend many but I find his choices very sensible . I agree with his rejection of Sabina as unsuitable for the life at Vaibhav Villa and I agree with his insistence that Devki work for Vaibhav Group as a bahu instead of AGAINST it .
