Fast friends during Ramzan
Apparently, the South hottie fasts on the final few days and loves gorging on delicacies like Maal Pua and Phirni during Iftar.
Asin reportedly started fasting while shooting with several Muslim friends down South, but she's not the only one.
Several non-Muslims across the city are known to observe fast during Ramzan, even if for a few days.
And while many admit that they often fast as a way to support their friends, there are others who do it as a mannat, like in the case of actor Ashiesh Roy.
"I've kept a mannat for my mother wishing her a complete recovery from cancer. My friend (co-star) Shoaib suggested I keep a roza and I did," he reveals.
Actor Aamir Ali too informs that many of his non-Muslim friends fast along with him as they consider themselves family.
"The people especially in the entertainment industry are a liberal lot, so we celebrate Diwali and they celebrate Eid with us," says Aamir.
Actor Angad Hasija, who also has a few friends who are not Muslims, yet they fast every year during Ramzan' says, "It's more to do with an internal desire than religion."
Actor Zayed Khan too agrees to having several such non-Muslim friends who observe fasting.
"In fact many from the industry even on the back-end like production and technicians do fast irrespective of their religion during Ramzan and join us in Iftar too," he says.
"It's one of the aspects of the industry that we're all very proud about," he adds.
