I understand ur point when I was doing Alevels my situation was just like urs
My bro was also in college & dad was the sole earner
sometimes I would hesitate to ask them something I was thinking abt my bro also
as it costs when 2 children are doing A levels & only one sole earner
But on holiday I would do job & contribute like my parents didnt have worries abt books & school materials, Our clothes
Even i got married I still help my parents or bro in his studies any help like money or anything else
even if they dont ask but I do it
