Tears and a promise

The first scene was absolutely heartbreaking! Gulaal is still in shock and her ramblings get Kesar all worried but he lets her speak because he wants her to get it all out of her system. He tries to reassure her time and again that this is just a phase and everyone will calm down but Gulaal is doubting herself…she just cannot believe that she has gone wrong in all her decisions. Finally…her subtle confession…she wanted to keep everyone from burning in the fire that burnt her world…the simple truth about why she kept this secret from the family. Her acceptance and self doubt are scary to watch because we have always seen a confident and self assured Gulaal but this woman is breaking down in front of Vasant, in front of Kesar…she is literally a broken woman. Kesar looks scared…he grabs her , his voice breaking and tells her to let it all out….to cry…he begs her to cry and she does. Her wail is heartbreaking…it almost sounds like she is crying for her loss…her loss of Vasant and her loss of the family. Kesar supports her just like he has always supported her and he cries with her…he cries for her…

I love how nothing in this story is left untied. Gulaal had warned Kesar about his temper and finally he realizes why…his temper has brought her so much pain and anguish. I am not surprised Gulaal has fallen asleep…she must be physically and mentally exhausted. Kesar stands next to her and his tear drop falls on her cheek which he wipes away gently. He sits down next to her and sobs….how could his carelessness have caused so much pain to the woman he has loved so much…? What has he done? He slips into fb's on the confrontation and the scene where he accused Dushyant looms in front of his eyes….what has he done? He gazes at Gulaal through his tears and promises that no matter what..he will stand by her…and we have no doubt he intends to keep his promise…because such is his love for Gulaal….

What to say about that crying scene...
For the first time they cried together...for the horribility that destroyed their lives and yet bound them forever ...
Their heart ripped off, broke into several pieces as they cried for the man who bound them and his untimely and totally unfair death.
Of the times they faced this truth separately, of the times they wondered why are they into this and craved for each other's support, for having being subjected to the whole series of horror yet again...

And when he comes in and puts the blanket on her...she is sleeping an exhausted sleep..
The tear that dropped on her and he wiped it off...
It actually was symbolic...The tears he had given her.
His actions, his temper, his rage brought this on her ..
And the way he wiped it as if saying that he will ensure that he wipes every one of those tears.
He will be with her at every step now she takes
