Honestly, I am happy with this construction.

Not forgetting Shikha, she will definitely bring a floak of problems for Sarika at home so that she cannot manage her household chores and college studies.

Looking forward to this balancing track.

I hate this very concept that a woman has to balance work and studies. Given what Sarika wanted to do, her own Dadi deserves to drop dead for forcing her to marry, when she didn't want to. And now, she has to prove her greatness by being a good bahu as well as a good student. What utter crap!!!
I blame Jai as well, although had he not intervened, Sarika would have ended up in a sasural that openly didn't agree to her studying or working.

I watched Thursday's episode last night (wonder why they can't simply run 5 days a week?) and although I support Sarika studying and going on to become a doc, I can see how Santosh has by her past actions essentially cooked her own goose.
One of the concerns she expressed was that one of her bahus had been prevented from modelling. I didn't agree w/ Dadi's argument that that was the right thing to do, just b'cos one wanted to do something for herself, while Sarika wants to do it for others. Santosh's devrani wanted to study computers, but dropped it on demands of her sasural.
So now, if the other jethanis have objections to Sarika studying, despite my supporting her, I can't exactly fault them. After all, if Sarika has the right to do something she wants to, then it's only fair that other bahus be given similar rights, whether it's to learn computers, modelling, becoming an air hostess, or whatever. It's a vapid argument to say that if a bahu wants to become a student or a doctor, it's okay, but if she wants to become a model or an animation designer, it's unacceptable.
And trying to fix things w/ the argument that Sarika will have to do the morning chores b4 she can leave is even more stupid. First of all, if she resumes studies, she'll have her day in class and in labs, and following that, even after she comes home, she'll still have to study some more. She can't just go around serving tea, or cooking, or doing the laundry. So chances are she'll have some late nights, and may get up just in time to get ready and go. Tossing those morning chores in will just erode her chances of succeeding in what she does. Oh, and if she does badly in either studies or chores, it'll be a pretext to stop her from continuing further.
The article also mentioned that she could have trouble in class. Unlike in the West, where you have students of all ages, and some married, in India, students are almost always single, and once a student marries, they typically drop out and do other things, be it housework, or business, or medicine, or whatever. Sarika will be teased simply if she wears a mangal sutra or bangles, and if she goes in her ghunghat, it'll be even worse. And it's unlikely that the faculty will be sympathetic to her.
In other words, her own dadi as well as Jai has just made her life hell!!! 😡

I just dont know how Sarika will manage housework and college life. She will probably get into trouble from Santosh for neglecting her household duties due to college as if Sarika goes to college then she has to study at home and prepare for exams too and like Vrish said she wont even get any sleep!

Garima will be okay with Sarika and I think will fully support her but Shikha will cause chaos and might say that even I want to go to college to do etc etc. To add to the sorrow Santosh's daughter will criticise her mother too for not allowing her to do modelling.
Whatever happens I hope Sarika fulfills her dream!

I cannot agree more _Vrish_
It's just crazy, I mean why did Jay and her own grandmother do that?

But it'll be great watching how she will tackle both Santosh and not forgetting Shikha who is a bonus trouble in Sarika's life. It will an interesting track.

Its highly impossible post marriage to work at home and also study a demanding subject like Medicine that too for whole 5.5 years.every year is a struggle in itself-with sometimes 10-12 subjects each having 3-4 bulky books and having 2 study all the time-Remember we have to train to treat a live person-ita not sometimepass BA/Bcom-sorry but MBBS requires your fulltime commitment/passion/time you just cant balance it with anything else not with this fulltime houseboundinsh marwari family of Sarika who have so many vrats/duties/cookings etc...
What a joke!!!!
