Gulaal still 'lived' after Vasant's death

So I was watching Srushti's VM 'Kaise Mujhe' on young Kesuda and Gulaal (which has become a favourite of mine 😳) Thanks you thank you😳 and it suddenly hit me that the stone-hearted Gulaal which rebuked Kesar so many times hadn't become like this because of Vasant's death. Well that wasn't the only reason! After his demise, she missed him but she also continued living her life because her Kesuda was there with her and he genuinely made her happy. For example that little run & chase after they made up in the cowshed...that was real happiness, real joy! Or when she told him that they are each others 'kavach'. Obviously in the back of her mind she assumed that Kesar will stay with her no matter what but she didn't understand what this would mean for their future relationship. That desire in her was present then. She could act like the young, free-spirited girl then too!

After Kesar left for boarding school, we heard stories from Rewa and Talli about Gulaal missing Kesar the most. Remember when Talli said that there were many instances when Gulaal would not eat for days when Kesar refused to meet her or refused to reply to her letters. She didn't even do that after Vasant's death. Somewhere along the line Gulaal hardened herself after Kesar left her too. He was her only solace and now she's only coming back to life because of Kesar. This is why I don't think neither Kesar nor Gulaal understand the actual effect they have on each other...more so Gulaal who is yet to actually fathom what Kesar actually means to her existence.

You know that is exactly what I wrote in KRML on 12th... am just putting it here...Though the Talli part is just put in a haphazard way in this post...the point is as you just rightly pointed out..She actually 'died' when Kesar left her...in a way they both were dying a typical death apart...and after years they met...and resuscitation spark just flew...

They both are so INEVITABLE for each other...with her on his side, you could see Kesar's sunny side up...the dark Kesar, the tantrumy Kesar is gone and with him on her side, you could see her finding her way back to her original self, the one she had just lost in the 10 years of their separation...and it just struck me...
That even after Vasant's death, Gulaal had held herself like this only... With Kesar around she had been this Gulaal ...may be not as playful, but she had it in her...she had NOT become a wall like she is right now...it was AFTER that Kesar went away that something, DIED in her...and she became that stone hearted woman...except for Talli..because she was the one on whom Gulaal could shower her love on...
Otherwise there was no outlet for her love...she did love the family ..but that was more of dedication and duty that called...not LOVE as in the sense she loved Kesar, wholesomely, unconditionally...
Just like he loves her..UNCONDITIONALLY, WHOLESOMELY...

Definitely agree. After losing Vasant, Kesar became Gulaal's reason for living and she did not treat him like a responsibility because even before Vasant's death, Kesar and Gulaal had formed a very deep bond. Both Gulaal and Kesar protected each other after V's death they truly did become each others Kavach. Kesar used to stand up for Gulaal all the time and she did not let any harm come to him. Apart from all this, they actually brought each other joy and another important thing was that they actually learnt from each other.

Kesar already understand Gulaal's importance in his life. I honestly believe that Gulaal has yet to realize just what K means to her...and if K would have married anyone else...Gulaal would have lost herself once again. In essence, Kesar has brought Gulaal back to life twice...once after V died and now once again, he he is bringing Gulaal back to her old self...

I had said yesterday i think to Srushti, that Gulaal had hardened herself after Kesar came back... if you see the journey from there on, thats when we see a change in Gulaal.. coz alot haooened after that

Obviously when Kesar left, and not meeting her and not writing to her - she kept herself in control and also closed up till he returns, but we saw what he was when he returned and so on.. obviously grown up and so on, but things changed from then on - and the constant digs Kesar made to Gulaal, which hurted her and she kept trying and so on...

These two give each life - are each other's lifeline in so many ways

Exactly Lennie...they are just INEVITABLE for the survival of the other...as the 'Kavach' dialogue goes... It was always THEM against world..and somehow everything black in the world could not turn of the light in their bright world where they had each other and Vasant...Even Panba Motabha lost the significance in the world they had made for themselves...Owww...Me again Whoosy whoosy..Lennie...What to do😳
