What is the point of getting married?

Marriage obviously bring happiness to some, but not everyone. Single people are also happy. What is the point of getting married? Sure, you have a life partner. But, it has to be someone you know really well and are comfortable with. Arranged marriage fails miserably in this day and age. Only love marriages are successful, but not always. The divorce rate is so high then it was 10 or 15 years ago.

Personally speaking i dn believe in marriages... Marriage just makes a person's life hell! And wen u r happy being single den y marry & add complications 2 life? 😆

For me both love marriages and arranged marriages r equal as both r nothng bt trouble creators😉😆.. marriage is just like gambling... Der is no guarantee at all of a peaceful life 2 Wat 2 talk of a happy life.. The risk in both kinda marriages is almost same.. okay u say dat in a love marriage u knw d person bt is der a guarentee dat d person will keep u happy?? Or dat d marriage will be 4 d keeps?? Love marriages r as gud as arranged ones...

Marriage is supposed to be a partnership that works well and saves one from loneliness. There is a trade off and some personal freedom has to be sacrificed.
Guess kids will make you understand love better.

I don't understand why so much emphasis is put on people getting married, having kids and having a family...
