Anu, I have always felt a lot of practicality in your writings, keep it up, You are right that marriage is a life long commitment and P is not like Kesar, who knew that her in-laws and her husband tried to bury her alive but succumbed to the pressure and came back.
P knows that what she is doing is important to make K realize what went wrong and how he should go about correcting it. She is giving him a chance to standup on his own two feet. K is dejected at this point, but he is a thinker, he will soon realize what he needs to do to get P back in his life.
He will do all those things of his own now, what P usually expects him to do and we have seen an example of a man who spoke his heart out to his own family as well as her family. This is Ps moment to help him change by keeping some distance from him for a short period of time.
