I think Gulaal was well annoyed by the way he was begging her to stay...hence the comment that he should show some self respect if not for himself then at least for his family...
Yes, a person like her would like to be with someone stronger. In her initial interaction with Vasant, she was amazed to discover as to what all Vasant could do. he could play drums, he knew about animals, willing to help others and was strong and best fighter and on top he stood beside her and believed in her when they were searching for water and left alone to dig.. and she fell for him.
Maybe she has hinted him to what she wanted him to be. 😊
