-Kesar's first entry was portrayed as a macho man, where he beat up Durgeshs' men to pulp.
-Then he was shown as a careless person, who does not take any responsibility.
-Then he started investigating Vasant's murder. Then he played with Talli's emotions.
-Then he started suspecting Gulaal and Dushyant relationship.
-Then he was never clear (as he says now) about his love for Gulaal.
-Then he has a heated discussion with Gulaal and brings it in the open that he knows about Dushyant killing his brother.
-Then next scene, he turns on a dime and when Gulaal is with MotaBha, trying to tell him about Vasant's murder (I guess), he steps in and says that he wants to marry Talli.
-He let her and Talli down in the big marriage showdown in front of the whole family.
Then he insisted on his relationship with Gulaal to the extent that it had to be taken in the open i.e. in the Panchayaat.
-Then Gulaal leaves the house and when informed by Jamna Kaki, he is like a 25 years old scared kid whose mom is about to leave him. (he can act in Home Alone 5)
-Then he starts asking questions to his mom and goes after Gulaal and argues with her. You think you can win over a girl's heart by arguing? When she never stepped into a husband wife relationship. And he comes home to PaanBa and cries like a 6 year old says Gulaal chali gayee!!!' 😭

What sort of a personality is Kesar trying to portray. Is he retarded or never grew up. He came back from the city and other than his jeans and shirt he has made no contribution towards the family. What boarding school did he go to? He is so easy to be mislead by Raman and others. He was so desperate to find out who killed his brother Vasant, Even after finding out that Dushyant killed his brother, he became peaceful ke chalo apne hi bhai ne mara hai.. Case solved and closed.

Why is he still reading those letters which made no mark on Gulaal. A young blooded male wants to live his dreams in those letters in which he mostly wrote that he does not know why he does not like(hate/gussa against) Gulaal and he has so many questions to ask.

Love gives you strength and makes you stronger. Love is not getting (never ever demanding), love is giving. You can't force anyone to love you. Iss mein haq mangnay ki baat nahi hai. If a person loves you he/she will come back to you. You can't convince a person logically that why should he/she love you. Its a feeling and attraction which comes from inside.

In my opinion he needs to act like a grown up man. He needs to wash away Gulaal's perception of seeing him as a kid. He needs to become a (mentally) strong young man who is working towards the betterment of the family and the village. This way he may win Gulaal's heart, when she sees someone stronger than her and working for a cause. rather than (first playing with Talli) and now crying like a kid, and whining like little girls. It looks like that there are two Tallis in the house now and they had their girls chat (debrief) on the relationship where he admired her being lucky.. oh give me a break Kesar😡.

but one's childhood is significant in shaping up one's future...it is only after going through trials and getting misled and confused will kesar be able to actually 'become a man' as you say...

his childhood was taken from him, he was sent away from his family when he did not want to go...and he has been used left, right, center by gulaal...his decisions were made for him and he had no say...literally never had any say...so i personally find kesar acting as a person would in this situation...very realistic and unlike the glossed up image that is generally shown on tv...

why would he not suspect dushyant and gulaal if we think about it logically...??? a person protecting the killer of someone he/she really loved...what does that say to you??? im talking about all of thsi from kesar's perspective...he's not one to simply accept things as they are...he wants answers, and im glad he makes no qualms about it...

his entire handling of the situation with talli (god she's so annoying..) was completely wrong...but he has learned from it...and so has gulaal thankfully, that she cannot go around making decisions for people and making them dance to her tunes all the time...she has to learn to take individual thoughts into account as well...the world does not revolve around her and her perceptions of what is right and wrong...

I think Kesar made anger his strength, and hate and bitterness back then to help him carry on all those years with the yearning of Gulaal and those letters
The fact that today Kesar's anger's gone and hate, and finally knows what it is, today we see a vulnerable Kesar - who knows wants Gulaal and is the centre of his universe but what exactly is he as a person, and as a man, and if we are honest we do see a little Kesar in there, in what we saw on monday
Its very important that Kesar now grows up, changes i mean that in a good way, he has everything to be a man - the man even with what makes him Kesar today (he is simple, he is honest, he is to the point etc) coz really want is his identity as such... he is closed up in a way just Gulaal is as well
Maybe just maybe we can see Kes-Gul take this journey together and individually
I very much agree on the love aspect, that love is strength, love is selfless, love is giving and so on, and i do think Kesar needs to make his love his strength
He does need to start doing something betterment for his family, the village and so on... remember Gulaal said to him once, to have a lakshya (target, objective) and thats what Kesar needs

His childhood was not bad.He was loved by everyone, He had the attention of everyone in the family and that is what a kid wants..Gulaal looked after him well, in fact very well. He was sent away to the boarding school. All kids cry the first time they are sent to the school and kids miss their homes once they are sent to the boarding school. Once you leave home then with time you get engrossed/busy in the activities and the anger subsides with time. 10 years is a very long time for someone to be away from home especially when he is growing up. As a child, he only witnessed Durgesh asking Gulaal that what relationship she has with her husband's murderer. But now he knows that Dushyant killed his brother and Gulaal knew about it, so what happened to his anger and vengeance which he kept alive in his heart for 10 years? He has not penalized Gulaal for hiding this grave truth nor he has taken any action against Dushyant for killing his elder brother.
When Gulaal brings him milk, he demands tea and tells her that in the last 10 years I have learnt how to make my own decisions. So what he says is not what he means.

What I am trying to point out that his first entry where he beats up Durgesh's men, it appeared that this young hot blooded man will make the difference to the family and village and do the things his own way. But with time his character has been rolled into a helpless and clueless person, who is misled by others and does not know how to go about things.
To come out of this current misery, he should atleast stop crying like a toddler and prove himself right with his actions rather than words. As they say 'Mard Ko Dard Nahin Hota' laiken Kesar ko toh zyada hi ho raha hai. 😃

Thanks Lennie. (I know that you are the expert on this subject 😊 )
We are on the same frequency. but just one point that the anger he has been hiding about Gulaal was the suspicion when he watches Durgesh asking Gulaal ( I mentioned above). He got the answers. He knows about his brother's killer and then ?? Jab kuch karna hi nahin tha to itna gussa 10 saal tak kyun dabba ke rakha. I think it has been downtrodden as they did with the letters which we hoped that Gulaal would read and realize that he cared for her all this time. Talli ne padh kar samjh liye, Gulaal ko samjh nahin aya.

Unless its a science fiction we do have the tendency to relate with the characters with people in the real life. For Kesar he is in the bracket where Jiwani is Deewani or as some say 'Baaghi umar' 😃

I think Gulaal was well annoyed by the way he was begging her to stay...hence the comment that he should show some self respect if not for himself then at least for his family...
