Is anybody 'Non wow-ed'

Is it just me or does anyone else also feel that the contestants are really not that great this time around ...

For singing shows, my usual thinking is that SRGMP selects the best ... they seem pretty much playback ready ... and Indian Idol picks up ppl more for the stage factor (anyways that show is all about Anu malik so it hardly matters)

but i was expecting so much more this time around simply because sonu nigam is one of the judges ... But somehow none of them have wowed me ... and i have no music knowledge at all ! ... and to even a lay person like me the songs sound strictly OK! ... Indian Idol seems better than this ...

So i cannot help but wonder why are the judges going on praising these people to the sky and giving them standing ovations ... because it all sounds so mediocre to me ... anyone else feel the same ?
