The judges seem more keen on complimenting each other and joking around rather than giving the contestants constructive criticisms. None of them were flawless, and many of them really messed up in places during their song. However, as someone else pointed out, judges usually do not give negative feedback during the first episode, so I'm going to wait until next week and hope the feedback improves!

I love SG, SN, and SLB, so I really do hope they give some good comments to the contestants. I just don't want this to turn into Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Singing Superstars.

I don't watch this show and after reading these comments and various other posts I think my decision is 100% correct. I just feel shocked when the judges say that the Indians haven't watched a show like this till now. They always keep repeating X-factor which irriatates me, just wish II6 comes soon with the same judges.

See, reality shows have become a money-churning business now. Gone are the genuine days of SRGM, where we had contestants versatile in every genre imaginable and the judges truly gave comments that were not scripted. On the whole, the purpose of such shows was to unearth true talent, and not be present for money's sakes. Now I am not blaming the judges, in fact I don't think anyone could resist that kind of money, but everything just looks OTT, from the judges comments to the 'live' performances with the faulty mics that resonate a little too much. The judges are just following the script, which is nothing unusual nowadays. Talent has gone for a toss, everyone is interested in hype and gossip, which the channel is providing in heaps.

So yes, the judges aren't needed on the show other than mentoring.

Well its pretty much how X-factor in the UK works.. The judges are really only there to pick the best people for the top 12 (which i believe they could have done much better) and then its up to the country to decide the winner.. the judges during this time only mentor the participants to make them better singers..
