Are the judges superfluous on this show?!

We are two episodes down of this show.all the 12 contestants have sung. They have already asked the junta of this country to vote. What is the role of the judges?😕

I have not seen any judge say anything untoward against any singers singing. There were mistakes galore, all the judges commented were about everything except their mistakes. There is scope for improvement in all of them yes, the judges, esp Sonu admitted to it, did he point them out on stage, where , what, why? Nope. What is their job?

Aaah Mentoring, yeah, forgot about that.😉

AFAIK, mentors reach the shooting late, just say hi to the contestants, may be make them sing, give them a few pointers if they have time. Enough bloomers occur during the shooting, contestants sometimes give 5-6 takes, re takes. what we see is just the finished product of a long and arduous shoot😊of may be 12-14 hours?

Where is the spontaneity? all we see is a glossy fake end product.

We do have people mentoring the contestants, but, they are not the judges , definitely.😆

The judges neither give constructive or destructive criticism or advice for improvement. 😡

The judges are there to promote themselves, the show and look pretty and give us diabetes with their sweet sweet pretty words to themselves and each other😊

Do we need judges, mentors? for judging and mentoring?

I personally feel no.

For looking good and pretty??

yes😊

what do you think?

I honestly would take that over the unnecessary drama and fights.. which we've seen enough of on srgmp 2005 and mkmm

I DO feel that the judges should have been more honest at least.. its quite obvious that some of the contestants def need to work harder.. maybe since its the first performance they're being a bit lenient.. i hope later on they'll toughen up and criticise when necessary

This is only what I think..You may not agree with it but I have never seen a reality show where the judges start to give negative comments in the first epi itself! 😕 And that's how it should be in my opinion...I'm not saying they should never say anything against contestants...But this was just the first episode I mean c'mon...People are already starting to say that judges are not criticizing and all that but we can't really judge the show just after seeing the first 2 epis! I'm sure they are slowly going to get strict! They will start being honest...But if all of a sudden in the first epi they do that...that won't be good for the contestants I think...From what I have seen...The judges are very nice...and whenever they say anything against the contestants...they won't be rude or anything about it! 😳 And that's not called criticizing but that's the way participants will improve!

I don't really make sense most of the times but I hope you all get me 😆

I wrote this in the other thread-posting it here as well

I was really looking forward to X-Factor as I had enjoyed II-5 and Chhote Ustad a lot last year and was excited about another music show. The thing I found about X-Factor is how fake everything is. I know it's a reality show but II (thanks largely due to the under appreciated Anu Malik) had very genuine moments. Beneath the hype,it was meant to be about the singing and I feel they kept to that within the constraints of popularity.

With X factor every thing from the auditions seemed fake and over the top. The judges seem like bad actors mouthing dialogues given to them. There is no build up to the contestants,no trying to get them better understood and really not one of the contestants stands out as having the chance of real success in the future. Add to that the inanity of the judges repeating that this is the best and the grandest show. It really makes them look stupid. Anyway, I suppose it will improve with time but this is not the type of show I want to waste my time watching.

Some thing like Chhote Ustaad was so much more enjoyable with the judges contributing in the singing and teaching stuff and showing the kids the nuances of singing. Maybe it's one show too much but I am tired of shows that make singing a by product and an after thought.

Is it just me or does it seem like the performances - the singing rather -are pre-recorded? Despite all the obvious flaws, it does not seem like live singing to me.

The show is ridiculous. The judges panel has the potential to be one of the strongest panels in musical reality shows, but they are too busy praising each other to notice that contestants are also a part of the show. Each time a contestant sings well, all praise is given to the mentors. On the other hand, when a contestant does not sing well, the flaws and mistakes are ignored and standing ovations are given instead. I did not expect this kind of judging from a panel with Sonu Nigam on it. Highly disappointed!

The ridiculous performances with absurd costumes and back-up dancers are painful to watch. Forcing contestants to dance and waste time rehearsing their dance when clearly it is their singing that needs work is beyond ridiculous. After last seasons Indian Idol, expectations were quite high from Sony, but this show has been pretty disappointing so far.

By the way, will Idol be airing after X-factor ends? And I watched an episode of Lil Champs and found the judges extremely boring - did that show get any better or are they still putting the audience to sleep?

It seems like judges come to show with tonnes of butter. Ek dusaron ko jo lagana. I really like these personality but not happy with their judgment so far. Hope it will get better as show progress.

So far am very disappointed with this show, it is so ridiculous to keep watching the judges simply glorifying one another, and not helping the contestants. They don't have to be harsh with their judgement in the first episode, but it is their duty to help the contestants by pointing out their big mistakes , going off key, or simply being flat...

one more week and if this trend continues, then will simply stick to reading all your updates here and skip watching the show.

Would rather have a Simon & Anu malik than these kind of sweet talking judges, don't get me wrong, I do like SB, Sonu and Shreya, but I wish they take their job seriously

At this point, think It is an insult if we compare chote ustad with this show, sorry that is how I feel

Phew, now that I unloaded all my thoughts, I feel so much better😊
