These episodes actually foreshadow the story. Vasant uses the marriage cloth to tie Kesar's leg even though Gulaal is still tied to it. This shows that Kesar and Gulaal will get married. Even when Gulaal and Vasant are entering the house, Vasant gives his turban to Kesar which indicates that he will take Vasant's place in the future.
