I feel very strongly that no one ever should be forced into marriage. This girl was dating a guy outside of our culture and her father sent her to India to get a married to some guy. She was 16 i think and my cousin is her friend and he said that she is very unhappy.

i believe that its absolutly not right to have parents get their children married against their wishes! and especially under age no way! its not right anyways

well if you're talking about forced marriages then i completely disagree- you cant force two people in a bond which will determine their life and which is inevitably going to break!! 🤢

I definately agree that "forced" marriages should not happen and there should be a law to enforce this.
However If the marriage is "arranged" with the "consent" of the boy and the girl than there is nothing wrong with it.
A lot of nationalities such as italian, greek, spanish , indian follow the arranged marriage idea. It seems that if the status, interlect, interests, family back grounds of both the girl and boy are are taken into consideration than there is more chance of a successful marriage.Marriage is more than being in love with a person, love changes with time and it is the compatibility of the couple which will help them through the every day trials and tribuls of married life.

I don't think that forced marriages should take place. Firstly and most importantly, its not fair, towards anyone. Most parents, as been said, find a good proposal and get their children married without thinking if its good for them or not, or if their happiness lies in their decision.
Arranged marriages and forced marriages do hold a difference. Arranged marriages are the marriages of your parents choice but the children have no objections, while forced marriages relay on the parents decisions only. Get married to some people is just about status, and keeping their postition in the socitey high, which is not right.
