Hey everyone.. this is Kaumudi here with the discussion of the week (DOTW) for the 12th week of 2011.. i.e from 28th march till 3rd april..😃 it's really been a long time since we had a nice discussion.. isn't it.??😃 So here i am with the topic of discussion this week :

FRAGILE EGO OF ELDERS..

so all you out there.. don your thinking caps and join me in the disccusion of the week on this topic..😃 here i go with my thoughts on ego..

EGO - although a three letter word.. engulfs everything that comes in it's way.. all the love.. all the affection vanishes in a second when ego comes into play.. and wat's worst is.. it kills the human in u.. u become unaffected by all that's happening around you.. and ultimately.. it's none other but you and your dear ones at lost..

we all must have realised it by now that this is what is happening in the show.. daddaji's ego has come in between a mother's love for her son.. a sister's affection for her brother (rashmi is whom am referring to.. nandini has a bigger ego than daddaji i believe..) and of course.. a bahu's respect for her in-laws.. whatever akshara does.. the singhania's think it hurts their ego..

with this as a background.. i have some questions for you..

1. there's a difference between self-respect and ego.. what is it.?? when daddaji separated naksh.. what do u think came into play then.. his self-respect or his ego.??

2. "Confronted by outstanding merit, there is no way of saving one's ego except by love."

how true is this statement in case of naksh.. or akshara in particular.?? is she trying to treat daddaji's and gayatri's bruised ego by love or is she lowering her self respect.. as said by many here.?? what do you think you would have done in this case.??

3. what are the possible reasons for daddaji's and other members of singhania's such high standards of ego.. does generation gap have a role to play in it or it's just that since daddaji's authority was never questioned that his ego is so much fragile.??

4. naitik too has ego.. what difference is there in his ego and egos of other family members including nandini.?? how has his ego undergone a change after his marriage to akshara.??

since this is my very first DOTW.. i beg for ur forgiveness incase i hav done any mistake.. 😊

1. Self-respect or ego?

Clear cut EGO ... Yes i very much agree, everyone has self-repect and when some hurts it, then its hard to get back... Their situation was bad, hence Naksh thought of sloving the problem.. Ah, yes thy solved it their own way, more i would say what today's gen would do...😊... DJ could hav said he will return the money as his self-respect would be question.. But here he reacted harsh and hence the batwara ...So any person with such ego would hav reacted in the manner DJ did..!!

2.Very well thought.. Akshara's love for the elders is making her lower her self respect ... I would love to see her taking a stand on it.. Agree to what Naitik says.. And not always crib about gayatri, DJ not talking to them... And past instances also, why does she hav to always be on"elders maanofying spree" ??

3. Gen gap is not such a big deal these days.. We have really cool grandparents who are tuning with the changing ways.. But Dj here has been authorative from the beginning, hence his EGO hurts when someone doesnt listen to him... gayatri thinks Naitik and akshara shud listen to whatver she tells, do whatever she thinks.. Else, bahu ne bete ko chin liya.. Typical MIL..!!

4.naitik and his ego.. We have seen the consequences before.. But now i think he's better..Maybe he knows what he will lose if he doesnt mend his ego problems😆

its ur first DOTW yet u have taken gr8 point
firstly it was dadaji ego adn self respect both got hurt due outsiders talk
and coming to akshara she is trying to confront dadaji and gaya3 with love bt indeed ends up losing her self-respect at times
and coming to elders behaviour is generation gap because they dont wanna adopt the present thinking
and naitik's ego as come down due the conseqeunce faced after marriage actully he wasnt egoestic it ws his anger which appeared as ego

i loved ur posts.!! srsly..😃

u noe i had readied the DOTW the time i posted in the activity corner.. but changed it just an hour ago.. it was on pregnancy.. it looked lyk i was writing an essay and therefore i changed it completely.!!😆

this DOTW is no good either.. it looks to me as if i hav prepared some question paper for the exams and am asking u all to answer it.. 10 mrks for each correct answer.!!😆😃

itss obv 100% ego!! i agree wid u abt ego point u hav given in starting! it kills love towards othrs n in des case also it happend! dj hav self resp as well as ego! bt self resp is far different dan ego.. if its self resp he wud nt hav don des bewkufi!! ulta naksh ne singhanias ko bachaya n he sed k jail me dalna asan nai he!! n nw g3 ven she cm to knw nikhil had gf she didn say thnx even to rajshri!! des is ego oly!!

akshi gvng resp more dan enough rather dan say unneccessary resp! she shud nt make in laws so much umm i mean usno sar chadhana!!

yess rytt munna nw undrcntrl of ego well said nw he doesnt hav ego!

naksh nw shud liv der life like no in laws in home den oly der in laws vll cm to knw der imp!!

though dj feels tat its his self respect its more tan his ego rather tan his self respect wat he thinks if he wouuld ve gone to jail & his pics coming in newspapers his respect would increase sometimes elders shd also try to understand youngsters pov & would he ll get his so called self respect back by separating naksh from the family.......

akshara is dead opposite of others i think now tere is not even a single amt of self respect is left with her i no wen u stay in joint family certain compramises ve to be done but its not tat u ve to bend soo nush tat u loose urself & not telling anything wen she no's tat her elders r doing wrong & not supporting her husband even wen he is write i think bcoz of al these only she is facing lot of prob's......

coming to the generation gap i believe both elders & youngsters shd try to understand each others pov but in yrkkh always elders want tere children to go in the same way in which they ve come after some point it becomes vry difficult to follow so which leads to conf;ict bet two generations.....

& i never expected tat naitik ll have such a change after akshara comes to his life his is the only character in the show which v can relate to our lives tis has happened only bcoz of his love for his wife hope she too gives him the same importance in her life as wat he is giving her......

@last i just dont want naksh life to be spoilt in the name of EGO or SELF RESPECT!!!!!!!!!!!
