How did Vidya Balan get to where she is today?

😊 Vidya Balan started her journey in a Bengali film called Bhalo Theko in 2003. That film got her some recognition as an actress. However, she made her huge Bollywood debut in the 2005 film Parineeta. This film got her a lot of debut awards and she was the toast of the town. She followed it up with big commercial hits in Lage Raho Munna Bhai, Hey Baby, and Bhool Bhulaiya. These commercial films actually did not benefit her a lot, but she showed the consistency in giving successful films. However, she came in a lot of multi-starrers which did nothing to raise her profile. Then, Paa happened and she won all the major awards followed by Ishqiya.

Now, today she is a major actress of substance and is getting a lot of films to show her immense acting talent. But, she lacks the hype of a Kareena Kapoor or Katrina Kaif. Vidya has never worked with the major Khans (SRK, Aamir, Salman) and she has still managed to be a top actress. Is she the Tabu of her generation? It is so rare to have actresses like her in Bollywood, but she turned out to be a pleasant surprise.

she has that raw talent I liked her in Bhool Bhulaiyaa & No One Killed Jessica she doesn't have that many films but she is in demand bc she can pull off strong roles

Parineeta ( i was bored watching this film so i dont remember much about it)

Lage Raho Munna Bhai ( i hated this film bore fest)
Guru ( have not seen it )
Salaam-e-Ishq: A Tribute To Love ( nothing much here)
Eklavya: The Royal Guard ( bored again)
Heyy Babyy ( fun film not bc of her)
Bhool Bhulaiyaa ( loved it)
Halla Bol ( i dont even remember her in this film)
Kismat Konnection ( less said the better)

Paa ( have not seen it yet)
Ishqiya
( have not seen it yet)
No One Killed Jessica ( didnt like the film but vidya was good)

now out of those only two films i liked but still want to see more from her give her the right film & role and she will blow you away.

Sorry, big miscalculation on my part! However, are there any real actresses these days? Vidya is the best out of all when thinking of the likes of Katrina, Sonam, and even Anushka! 😲

Because she can transcend past not having a commercial figure and still end up dominating in most of the roles that she does.....the audience has respected that and it shows from her progress in recent years

It's hard to think that only a few years ago she just started out.

Bcoz she got a tailor made role in Parineeta !!!! 😛

I hav seen all her movies minus Paa n Ishiqiya and am nt watching thm too... !!! I neva felt like i will watch any movie for !!!😛

but shez a good actress who does not attract !!!
