MUMBAI: Saregama Films will release its film Soundtrack on 30 sept

Soundtrack is said to be a remake of the multi-award winning film It's All Gone Pete Tong.

Soundtrack is a modern-day portrayal of the life story of India's most prolific musician and DJ. It traces his alcohol, drug and sex fuelled meteoric rise as he battles his internal demons and a damaging handicap.

Directed by debutant Neerav Ghosh, the film has Rajeev Khandelwal, Soha Ali Khan and Mrinalini Sharma. It also stars Mohan Kapur, Yateem Karyekar, musician Sidd Coutto, Ankur Tewari and Anurag Kashyap in a special role.

Rajeev's B'Town Return: August Release For Khandelwal's 'Soundtrack'!

He's just one film old, but the audiences have great expectations from Rajeev Khandelwal, and they won't have to wait for much longer to see if he lives up to them! The telly boy impressed cine goers with his performance as the helpless commoner in Aamir, and now he's all set to make his second B'Town appearance in Neerav Ghosh's Soundtrack which is slated to release in August 2011.

The film is an official remake of It's All Gone Peter Tong, a cult Canadian flick which was released in 2004. Soundtrack traces the journey of one of India's most gifted DJs and his rise to fame even as he struggles with alcohol and substance abuse. His whole world comes crashing down when he realises that he's got a damaging handicap which could threaten his entire career.

Global music icons Midival Punditz and Karsh Kale have composed the music for the flick which also stars Soha Ali Khan, Mrinalini Sharma and filmmaker Anurag Kashyap in a special role.

Rajeev Khandelwal, who recently tied the knot with sweetheart Manjiri Kamtikar, will return to the big screen after 3 years with Soundtrack. Meanwhile, matters are all knotty now…
