http://www.usanewspoint.com/soundtrack-is-an-official-remake-of-the-cult-english-film/

Soundtrack is an Official Remake of the Cult English film
:

Based on true events, Soundtrack is a remake of cult film's official English "all gone Pete Tong" (2004). The film chronicles the meteoric rise and fall of a DJ, Raunak Kaul (Rajeev Khandelwal) who has the talent to make the world dance to their songs (literally)😳😳. However, an excessive lifestyle and substance abuse, not only makes you lose focus of work, but also leads to a permanent physical disability. In his world dominated by music blaring, Raunak becomes completely deaf and unable to fulfill his dream of making music.

Things change when Raunak meets Gauri (Soha Ali Khan), who is also deaf, but have mastered the art of lip reading. In Gauri, Raunak is a guardian and companion. As his passion for music is renewed, as it tries to sense (if not heard) and the study of digital signals of songs I knew, to create new music. And it becomes a recognized composer deaf DJ.

Debutante Director Neerav Ghosh attempts to give a color docu-fiction to fiction to make it look like a biography on the life of its protagonist. Fortunately, the processing of documents exceeds the true story, which has sufficient scope to the drama in itself. The first half seems obsessed with closeups of alcohol, drugs, snuff and sex. Raunak alcohol, like water and smoke while breathing air. The idea is to give a dark and sinister tone of the film, as film Anurag Kashyup mark (the rebel filmmaker also has a cameo), especially large enough for the substance abuse history. But after a while a moment, it just gets repetitive and seems forced.

The tone of the film changes abruptly in the second half when the story gets sweeter and simple, as Raunak is located in a rough self-rehabilitation, to avoid dependence. Their romance track (with Soha) is happy sex on your hard drive (with Mrunalini Sharma) in the first half. But beyond the dark shadows and chemistry with his co-star, the account is not able to create a big contrast between the first half and the second, which would have led to the feeling of distress and the protagonist better .

The depth of what is added to the process of relearning Raunak music (which is the soul of the film) in the second half is nothing compared with the intensity that lends itself to drug accumulation in the first half. This means that the film that adds intensity are not necessary, and vice versa. A basic idea of ??a deaf person composing music is decent for an inspiring story. Although the promising premise of the film will not be disappointed, you feel even the entire account could have been more difficult, esp. when the director was right reference point as the original film.

The entire track of the struggle with his inner demons Raunak (clowns around him in a wild face mask) looked ridiculous to be symbolic. It becomes boring after a point, and the whole course would probably have been avoided. For a film dealing primarily with music, is the real "band" is not so challenging that one might have expected. Also the length could be shorter, and the film could have done with many repetitive parts. But the dialogues, esp. in the second half, is well formulated and leave an impact.

Soundtrack of works in large part because of the convincing performance of the protagonist played by Rajeev Khandelwal. 😳😳 At first it seems doubtful that the images sober player 😳😳 would be able to delete a character so wild and strange than that😆😆 . However, as you see it more as a character, who are surprised by the conviction he brings to his role. Soha Ali Khan plays a character only deaf, babbling in his diction too. And the actress subtly makes absolute (relative to the stereotypes that go to sea in Bollywood) and brings with her role. It would have been more logical if the story reported on the reasons behind his lisp. Mrinalini Sharma sexy and cool is not it a little vulgar in his poorly dressed character. Mohan Kapur hams. Manu Rishi not get paid much. Yatin Karyekar is decent.

Rocking the look

Rocking the look

Ripped jeans, metal chains, steel bracelets, printed tees, bandanas, accessorised waistcoats and the 'I don't care' attitude is the perfect recipe for the rockstar look. And most actors seemed to be flaunting it with style and lan.

Katrina Kaif's hip avatar in Mere Brother Ki Dulhan, Rajeev Khandelwal's tattoo-flaunting DJ portrayal in Soundtrack and yet-to-be-seen on the big screen Ranbir Kapoor's rugged Rockstar image — all the three makeovers seem to have redefined the meaning of the 'rockstar' look. "I like the assorted look that has been created for such roles. I particularly loved Katrina in Mere Brother Ki Dulhan. She was stereotyped as the pretty woman and girl-next-door. But in this, her attitude —the way she smokes a beedi, has messed-up hair, wears smudged kohl under her eyes and cowboy shoes all adds up to a cool factor," says former Miss India, Pooja Chopra.

Not just Kat, even the Kapoor lad seems to have gathered a fairly large fan following. Online communities, tweets and the Rockstar page on FB have updates by young girls and boys gushing about his new-style phenomena. "Ranbir looks pretty cool and chilled out. What I really like about his look are the checked shirts and scarves. Ripped jeans are not my thing, but he definitely carries it off really well," says actress Samyuktha.

A change is always welcome, is what most agree. In an age of romantic and action films, where the actors' onscreen look is defined by real-life characters, the rockstar look is creating ripples across the industry. "It is good to see the change. And the look of the stars needs to be exaggerated — like the long hair and accessories. It is Bollywood and the audience likes to see a larger-than-life persona. Particularly, the onstage look of a musician. If it is too realistic like the contemporary artists, then people might not like it," says Ricky Kej, music director.

Soundtrack Review – Flick Rocks

Soundtrack Hindi movie Review

Review

This Bollywood New Hindi movie had the content that looks like target for your favorites as the film Soundtrack is just Awesome with stuff and RK is simply mind-blowing in his performance. On the other sides all other critics as well giving this picture with full marks almost as exciting reviews and comments and is the latest buzz on the internet. The small actor RAJEEV KHANDELWAL deserves full marks and outscored this week other actor's releases. Although this movie is just looks like a COPY of a Hollywood flick ITS ALL GONE PETE TONG as it looked the same in every single part and made it look that each detail is lifted from the flick, it's a remake. But some people really do not understand the real cinema, but they still like some which has no good content, as they like the big performance delivered by the actors to a small concept, that's may be the reason why movies with no content get blockbuster hits and inspiring the director to make a remake an a film like this where it definitively find little audience on the first show, but its way too different from the original one, because it demanded a real talent to perform up to the expectations… RK has showed his genuine talent and is the most interesting actor for the slot of recent times. Ultimately a very good movie from Bollywood. For this lovely weekend if you have bored up with Rascals on the other side.

Go for it, Flick Rocks.

Rating: Good of 3.5/5

A lovely hat ke movie
By K N Gupta

Eye TV India Bureau

Cast: : Rajeev Khandelwal, Soha Ali Khan, Mrinalini Sharma, Mohan Kapoor
Director: Neerav Ghosh

'Soundtrack' is the third movie released this Friday, Oct 7, 2011. It belongs in Bollywood to the experimental cinema category. Filmmaker and director Neerav Ghosh and his protagonist actor Rajeev Khandelwal toy with the rise to ruins story, instead of the typical rags to riches stereotype. A small town boy first becomes a rock star and then turns into a wreck, but a bit of romance brings him back to life. Experimental cinema game is a tough one in the Indian landscape, but Ghosh and Khandelwal could be said to have succeeded.
Ghosh and Khandelwal had luck on their side. They benefited not only with good producers, but also reputed singers like Anu Mallick, Salimand Kailsah Kher, and VJs and DJs. The film seems to have been inspired by the English film 'It's All Gone Pete Tong' that traced the ups and downs in the life of musician Frankie Wilde

The movie is the story of a small town boy Raunak Kaul played by Rajeev Khandelwal. He comes to the city with big dreams after losing his father at 6 years of age but reminiscent of days spent listening to his father's music. Incidentally, his uncle retrieves the father's incomplete music tapes and hands them over. The son adds layers to them which become an instant hit in the city night club where he is the most sought-after DJ. But, the pleasant life is short-lived and Raunaq is soon to be consumed by alcohol and drugs and falling for women. The club's high noise turns him almost deaf. His admirers and friends turn on him and he begins to confine himself to a dark and solitary cell surrounded by his private demons, where a life-size joker mocks at him. Raunaq learns to face his demons and recovers.

The love story twist comes in with Gauri played by pretty Soha Ali Khan, also deaf, but teaches him to lip read. Soha and Raunaq gel very well, and Soha teaches Raunaq lip reading with her finger movements and facial expressions. Thus, Raunaq reinvents the meaning and music in his life.'Soundtrack' script is very well drafted and so is its screenplay. Performances could be rated as fantastic. Soha Ali Khan has proved that she is not only pretty but also talented. This is clear from the way she teaches Raunaq lip reading with her finger movements and facial expression. The character of Raunaq is played quite wonderfully by Rajeev despite the odds of an experimental movie. Top it all with fitting and soulful music by Midival Punditz.

No experiment, 'Soundtrack' deserves applause!
