Aamir, with wife Kiran in tow, was the first one to reach the venue, Taj Land's End in Bandra, to ensure that he personally welcomed each and every guest.

Looking resplendent in a red lehenga, bride Avantika was smiling from ear to ear and the groom Imran seemed a bit shy.

But there was no denying that this was the bash to announce both, Imran Khan's wedding and Aamir's clout: Bollywood aristocracy, top bureaucrats, society divas, stockbrokers, sports personalities, industrialists.

The early birds were Jackie Shroff, Sarika, Anupam Kher, Piyush Pandey, Asha Parekh and Faisal Khan.

Black was the colour of the Khan males. Seems Aamir, Imran and Faisal had planned that they would all wear black.

A roar went up on the red carpet outside as master blaster Sachin Tendulkar was seen walking in with Yuvraj Singh.

What made the party truly a who's who was how Bollywood was one segment of the glamour.

While the Kapoor clan was there in hordes, you also had Mukesh Ambani, Anand Mahindra, Kumarmangalam Birla and the Godrejes.

The party was not short of any political drama. Just as Uddhav Thackeray made his entry, Raj Thackeray made his exit.

Rohan Sippy came in with Sriram Raghvan. Dharmendra who has become quite a social animal these days, courtesy Yamla Pagla Deewana, came in with a friend.

Sarika made a quick cameo and walked out. And then came the mogul of love stories, Yash Chopra with his wife Pamela. Newly-weds Samir Soni and Neelam Kothari, who tied the knot just twelve days ago, walked in hand-in-hand.

And then came 'bad man' Gulshan Grover. Another on-screen villain Prem Chopra came in with his daughter Prerna and son-in-law Sharman Joshi.

At 10 pm, when Dilip Kumar and Saira Banu walked in, Aamir went outside the hotel to receive Yusuf Saab (as Dilip is fondly called). Dilip was helped by some people to come out of his car and he walked into the hotel holding Saira's hand.

As Dilip was entering, Dharmendra was walking out in the opposite direction. The next moment, Dharam got into a long chat with Saira.

Also seen was former sheriff Indu Shahani with son, Jetendra, Rajkumar Santoshi, Arbaaz Khan (without his Munni), Daler Mehendi, Rajkumar Hirani with wife Manjeet. Soon, Kareena Kapoor, Preity Zinta, Karan Johar, Manish Malhotra and Salman Khan walked in.

And then a big roar went up again as Dev Anand came in, waving his hand in his customary style. One good turn deserves another.

On Thursday night, Aamir was a very excited guest at the premiere of Hum Dono Rangeen. This time, the excitement was palpable on Dev Saab's face.
