Midweek B.O.: 'YPD' collects Rs 22.8 cr in Weekend 1, excellent

Yamla Pagla Deewana	Dharmendra, Sunny Deol, Bobby Deol, Kulraj Randhawa, Anupam Kher, Johny Lever, Nafisa Ali, Sucheta Khanna, Amit Mistry, Mukul Dev, Himanshu Malik, Puneet Issar, Emma Brown Garrett, Ajay Devgn [voiceover]	Watching the Deols in one frame. Plus, a captivating second half	First half is sloppy. Romantic portions don't work	Collected approx. Rs. 22.8 cr nett in Weekend 1 [early estimates], which is excellent in view of the fact that the Deols and also director Samir Karnik haven't had a smooth run at the box-office. The breakup:- Fri: 7.95 cr, Sat: 6.60 cr and Sun: 8.25 cr. The film has performed very well in North India [exceptional in Punjab], but is on the lower side in Mumbai city. The contribution from single screens has been enormous, while multiplexes haven't contributed much from Mumbai city and South. The dip in business on Saturday could be attributed to an interesting cricket match
No One Killed Jessica	Rani Mukerji, Vidya Balan, Neil Bhoopalam, Mohammed Zeeshan Ayub, Myra, Rajesh Sharma, Satyadeep Misra, Shireesh Sharma	A poignant story of two women's resolve for justice narrated with utmost sensitivity by director Rajkumar Gupta	Could've been trimmed for a stronger impact	Maintained very well despite a strong opposition ['Yamla Pagla Deewana']. Collected approx. Rs. 4.22 cr nett in its second weekend. The breakup:- Fri: 1.25 cr, Sat: 1.42 cr and Sun: 1.55 cr. Total so far: approx. Rs. 24.72 cr nett. Will ensure healthy profits to UTV. Hit
