This is my very first post on this forum. I just started watching and have not gotten far enough in the story to feel credible posting. However I find the rules and regs... well lets just say I do not understand them.
The whole point of a forum is to discuss and debate - anything worth discussing and debating will by its very nature be multi-faceted with nuanced and opposing view points. The characters are developed specifically to spur debate and yes even disagreement - whats black, whats white, whats grey, - not being able to discuss these points means not being able to discuss the social issues that the characters face and the way in which they address these issues. This is particularly bizarre if the reaon is that we are afraid of hurting the feelings of fictional characters (lets face it - debating a character is high praise to the actor that is able to inspire such strong feelings).
If done without vulgarity or malice there should be no reason for the feelings of other members to be hurt (especially when we live in a world of war and famine and so many other more pressing things people can get upset about).
In the absence of authentic debate we are left with posts that say nothing more than - I like your post, or good post. - which really are more spam like than polls (especially when the forum has a "like" button that can be used to express the same sentiment)

i have followed a couple of forums around IF, but somehow seem to find the level of rudeness and personal putdowns offered here to be of a much, much higher level.
other forum members are called insulting names, lead characters are called gavar, sadak-chaap what have you...i don't know if this is permissible or not, but it makes the 15-20 minutes one spends here quite uncomfortable, as compared to other forums where views are expressed in relatively respectful manners.
i know we can press the report button, and i have complained, but to no avail.

Mods we appreciate the number of instances of abuse that must be reported on a daily basis - some accurate some not. but.

Can the mods please explain what they mean by indirect bashing?

we can undersrtand the problem then we can either avoid it or discourage it while keeping the debate alive.

I think that if you find a thread has indirect bashing you should either close down the specific post instead of the entire thread OR should specfically quote the bashing post on the thread and give a warning so the other posters and the original poster can continue posting while ignoring or discouraging the poster doing the bashing

this is respectful of the rights of the non-bashful posters and helps to encourage non-bashful debtate.

A request.

Hope

This meesage is for Ms. Pearl, who is the writer for Pratigya.
I watch this program regularly, although I am a student and a mother. I know there is a lot of facts and truth in this soap. But what is not potraited to a great extent is that women don't put up with such treatment anymore. This fact has not been highlighted.and taken for granted.
Krishna, always puts down Pratigya. His family irrespective of their behaviour, is always correct. This
week, he even says that this marraige is a mistake. This was the same man who interupted an engagement, went and literally begged Pratigya to marry him forcefully. Today, he has the right to
say such cruel words toP ratigya.
Therefore, for the viewers, there has to be some message. Pratigya, should not listen to such insensitive words and be quiet. As there are many women in the world who withstand all these cruelty and finally they don't know what heapens to them. Ultimately they end up suiocidal. They reach the other extreme. So, he has to be taught a lesson. Pratifgya should leave him and he has to beg her for forgiveness and start learning to trust her completely.
As a women has always been trampled over in our Indian society. Its high time, the approach is changed by the television media. Through the twist, there has to be a new message for all the men who treat their women as nothing.
