I understand that some members may have a liking for certain actors and I totally agree with you that this forum and its threads should not turn into a fan club

However, I find it very disappointing when one says that character focussed discussion is not allowed to protect the sensititives of the other dissenting members.

India is a democracy. India Forums should be democratic too. Freedom of Expression is the first and most fundamental right in a democracy.

we watch the show for the characters, the plot and the underlying issues. If we cannot discuss these in healthy debate then we should switch over to documentaries.

I am sorry if this post offends the dev team or hardcore supporters of any specific character.

I would also make another comment. We watch soaps and sitcoms for entertainment value, we discuss and debate to draw the maximum out of that entertainment value. I called a characher Princess Pea and my post was closed. I was extremely offended when this was done because it was undemocratic. I find it difficult to believe that the use of a fairytale characher to shed light on a characher's foolhardiness is offensive to others. I did not use foul, vulgar or obsene language.

I am new here and for the most part have tried to be objective in my posts. My ocassional "lapse" has been a measure of stress relief and desperate attempt to inject humour in a very passionate topic. However it seems to me that most topics and posts closed are those that support Krishna and not Pratigya.

I am concerned that while the rules emphasis a certain neutrality the warning levels etc are intended to censure non-Pratigya loyalists. I may be wrong but this is my repeated impression. Again, I am afraid if I have offended anyone's sensibilities but assuming this is a democracy and not an autocracy I wished to express my own disappointments. I will definitely be a lot less engaged in topic participation as I feel that I need to temper the most inocuious of my comments to match the popular opinion.

in keeping with the rules of this forum and my past experiences I fully expect this post to be blocked or closed within the next five minutes. but I am thankful that atleast for the next five minutes some objective members (silent or active) will get to hear my comments as they were intended. unedited and totally transparent.

Thank you all. A Good Day and wonderful Weekend.😃

Hope

I agree with some of Hope's points. I feel extremely limited here as to what I can and can't say.
It is evident that there are times when this forum becomes a battlefield--also when members opt for humor instead of guns--, however, even that has been restricted. What is the alternative, then? To not post at all???
I really get the point of rules, but the extent of restriction hinders the purpose of discussion.

We are not allowed to discuss characters but asked to discuss the show.........How can we discuss the show when characters , such an integral part of the show are not allowed to be discussed ?

Each time a character is discussed topics r shut down saying 'indirect bashing' of the character is not allowed . What is indirect bashing ? It is a very vague term and can have unlimited meaning ! If we viewers feel Amma is not doing right or SS is wrong Or Pratigya is overdoing it why should we not express our views so long as we follow IF rules strictly .........of not using foul language or vulgar terms ?
We feel tremendously suppressed . It is not so in any other forum , truly . The amount of topics locked is very high here . Debate is discouraged here ..........debates make a discussion lively and interesting so long as we respect each other and don't indulge in personal attacks or foul language .
If some members engage in rude name calling they should be given individual warnings , why should an entire quality topic be closed down ? This is not fair to other members who give good posts and abide by IF rules . Sometimes topics r locked and then unlocked upon members requests .Im puzzled .
I expect , like Hope , that this post may be suppressed . But I felt like expressing my concerns like rachna and HOpe did ,.
Of course it goes without saying that ultimately mods r the authority and I will abide by all the rules of this forum . I love this serial and ultimately I will do what mods say ....but I just wanted to express concern about some issues .

i want to believe that mods are acting like this because some members complain without even going through the thread and making an unbiased assessment they just close the thread..and that is not fair to the rest of the members who follow the rules. 😡 mods are there to listen to two sides of the story...not one side...
