Geet literally sprinted towards the kitchen, from where her mother had shouted for her.

Mum: Here take this............subha se teesra call hai..........says he needs to speak about something important but poocho toh kehta -sirf Geet ko boloonga...

Geet had the cheesiest grin ever plastered on her face, she'd figured out she'd just made it on time for Jai's call...................but the fact that he wants to talk to her ONLY was slightly surprising........

Geet: Uffoooo mummy......you don't know........it's TOP SECRET........sssshhhhhh -usse koi ladki pasand agayi hogi..........that's why he probably isn't telling you..........bechara.....embarassing situation you know......

Geet said as she took the phone from her mum and spoke the words to both Jai and their mum.

Geet: Right Jai.....yehi baat hai na........oooo so tell me........how is she?? Is she tall?? Good looking?? No no....I mean.....Gorgeous...........hmmmmm -bol na......why you so quiet now..........ohhhh you're feeling shy??? Ohh oo -don't feel shy yaar......it's only me na.........Jai......helloo Jai you there.......???

Jai: Woah......chill......Geet listen.....

Geet: Oh so you are there.......hmmm bol.........by the way........I hope you haven't ...you know.....like.......you know....

Meanwhile, Geet's mum who had been listening in to Geet's part of the phone call broke in;

Mum: Tu chup hogi toh he will be able to speak na. Jab se you have taken that phone off of me........you haven't breathed for one second nor have you let him speak -arre sun toh le what he wanted to talk about.........*Geet gave an annoyed look at having been interrupted.....though she knew what her mother was saying was quite right.....but then her excitement to speak to Jai had taken over everything. She laughed at herself for acting so childish........*

Mum continued: And anyways.......rest assured, if he found a girl he would tell me first.....not you!!! *saying that Rano left the kitchen, signalling that she was popping over to the neighbour's*

Geet: Hawwwww....Jai......you listen to me mister........if you ever and I mean EVER even have the slightest of crush -promise me you will tell me FIRST!!!!!! Bol agreed???

Jai: Uffo meri maaaaaaa -main kuch boloon ya nahi????

Geet: Haan to bol na, kisne rokha hai......but pehle tell me if you agree or not......

Jai: Hmmmmm and if I don't agree.......then???

Geet: KYA???????????????????? Is ka matlab..............haww Jai you like someone haina....and you never told me??? How's that possible?? Aise thode na hota hai?? Jai.........bol naaaaaaaaaaaaa*Geet repeated with a tinge of irritation taking over her voice*

Jai: Heyyy heyyy heyy.......chilll meri behnaaaaaa...............theres nothing of that sort.....I don't like anyone...........as of yet.......and don't you worry my little sister........you shall always be the first to know everything!!!!!!! That is why I wanted to talk to you and you ONLY today.....

Geet: Heyyy........just because I got a little bhavook si types....doesn't mean I will let you live with the false hope that I am the little one -I am the older one and you know that all too well, so don't start ok, because you know you will lose so don't even get me started Mr. Jai Handa because I am Miss. Geet Handa -kissi se kam nahi hoon!!!!!

Jai laughed at his sister's bubbly self. He had missed her like anything.........ahhhh but spending time with his friends from college was just a different experience -totally thrilling and new...............in a way he had thanked God that the return flight from India, when they were returning from a cousin's wedding, had been over booked resulting in the whole family having to stay over a few extra days in a hotel until a suitable flight was available for their return. But even then God had played another nice trick for them, at the last minute there were only 3 tickets for the return, and since Geet had to get back fast for enrolment, Jai had somehow convinced his parents into letting him stay over a little longer and use the opportunity to go on a road trip around India and then eventually return in time for his enrolment and portfolio hand in date for his university.

Geet: Jai......helloo.......oy......acha sun I'm sorry yaar you know I was just kidding na........oy helloo???

Jai: Hmmmm..................

Geet: Kya hmmmmm?? Tu bolta kyun nahi??.........ACHOOO

Jai: bless you

Geet:.......acha sun - when you coming back??

Rano had just walked in after visiting the neighbour and heard the numerous sneezes from Geet

Mum: Geet???? Yeh kya....you're still on the phone to Jai.....beta it's an international call, it does cost money and what's this......how comes you're sneezing soo much? are you getting a temperature? Cold? Kya hua??? *as Rano placed her hand at Geet's forehead and checked her wrists to see signs of her falling ill*

Geet: Nothing mummy......A...A.........mummy chodo....ohhh Jai bol na kuch mummy ko.......I'm fine mummy......ohh

Jai: Dekh I'm going........and take care of yourself - ok..............I don't want you falling ill on me.........listen to what mummy says to do samjhii........

But before Geet could reply.......her sneezing had gotten the better of her and Rano had to grab the phone from her.....

Mum: Chalo beta......enough for today......let me see to Geet now - kal baat kar lena ' ok???

And Rano hung up before wating for Jai's response................turning to Geet and her endless sneezing

ACHOOOO...A....A.....ACH.......ACHOOOO....ACHOOO.....ACHOOO.....ACHOOO arghhhhhACHOOO mu.....ACHOO mummy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! *As Geet sat there getting irritated with this.......spaz attack.....of sneezes*

Rano just couldn't quite understand what was happening. Geet didn't have any history or sudden sneeze attacks or dust allergy of any sort, or showing signs of a temperature or cold overcoming her ' then why was her phool si beti sneezing......haye kissi ki nazar toh nahi lag gayi.........meri bachi......*thought Rano as she looked at her daughter helplessly as she helped her get comfortable in bed with a hot water bottle beside her, after having given her some Paracetamol which Rano knew all too well that Geet must've spilled down the sink since she hated the taste......uffo Geet bhi na...hoping she'll get better after a good night's sleep - though a little early for bed time but still.......no harm in getting some rest.
