One week since the pre-boards, maan came to school for the results. He just took his marks card & went home. Daadi was called to the school.
Class teacher - I am sorry Savitri devi, we cannot allow maan to write the board exam
Daadi was much tensed & didn't know what to say
Class teacher - he has failed in all the subjects, actually he has not even attempted any questions. Just see his answer sheet, aise bache ko hum aapne school se board exam main bhejenge to humare school ka performance aur record karab ho jayega
Daadi was all in tears - please I promise he will do better in his boards
Class teacher - please I can't do anything you will need to speak to the principal
Daadi took the principals appointment & paced up & down the corridor, finally the principal
called her in. Daadi spoke to the principal & pleaded please do spoil his career uska ek saal lose hojayega
principal - that will any way happen. He is not interested in anything. Why don't you consult a doctor or some thing
daadi lost it - dare u speak anything about my grandson. Its ur responsibility to make sure he does well if guys cannot teach him well, that's ur incapability. Don't blame him. He will sit for the boards & u have no right to stop him for your own mean thoughts.
Daadi comes back to the house looking for maan he was in his room sitting by the window.
She hugged him & kissed his forehead. She couldn't express herself & worries to him. She wanted to beHis support not his weakness. Daadi - aapka exam aacha nahi gaya tha kya

Maan for the first time said I like it.
Daadi was shocked he said that. She then thought he just saying to make her feel better.
Daadi spoke to few old acquaintances & tried to get admission for him in Dargling
Geet walks-in hearing daadi's conversation on phone of sending maan to dargling to continue
his studies there. she weakly smiled at daadi & ran to his room.
She hugged him & started crying. She kept crying endlessly, few mins he stood numb
he wondered may be she heard about his result, felt little odd what she might be thinking about

maan slowly raised his right hand & patted her head very softly. She cried even more
maan yelled - stop crying

He himself was shocked didn't have any clue about it.

She just kept crying the whole 30mins, he was getting mad seeing her like that. He could bear to see her eyes welling with tears, cheeks nose & lips had tuned red. His shirt was soaked in her tears now. Maan closed his eyes & ears to stop seeing or hearing it but how could he stop feeling it. He felt miserable. He hated the feeling how much he hated his past. He just snapped back & pushed her out of his room & closed the door behind. She went back home crying.

Rano - kya huwa beta kuch chot lag gayee kya
Geet - main cycle se gir gayee & went to her room & sulked

At dinner time maan didn't come out. Daadi took his dinner & went to his room
Daadi feeding him, he turned away.
Daadi - don't worry I have found a good school for u I dargling
He hated the thought of moving away from geet.
Daadi - just try to pass ur boards this year. Then u don't have to study in this mean school where marks is everything. I know they are just not wanting to keep u hear because to ur poor performance.
Maan still didn't have is dinner & slept on her lap.
Daadi ' I will wind up the business here & start something new there. I have spoken to my friends there. Once we settle there, we need not come back to delhi ever again.
His heart just stopped with thought of not coming back to delhi. No connection with delhi
means not meeting her, not seeing her he just hugged daadi tightly & closed his eyes & slept.
Next day morning he woke up & went down to see her hiding behind the walls. She came at 8.15am & waited until 8.30 & left. Her eyes were red, probably she cried even after going home.
Maan looked into his books which looked as new as it was just brought from the shop.
He took out is text books & started studying. He had no clue about previous years question paper
Or the question paper patterns or anything. He just took his text books & studied. He started to spend like 16-17hours a day just studying. The only break he took was to see her in the morning
hiding behind the wall 8.15am to 8.30am. He missed his karate classes, but never missed her tuitions. She still cried every day with the thought he is leaving delhi in july. It was still Dec. she counted every single day & remind him to. She couldn't show her tears because he would just go nuts looking at them, so she cribbed making faces. He ignored her talks.
It was early weeks of jan. geet came running to his house not her usual time.
She barged into his room looking really delighted
He looked at her questioning, she never seemed so happy in past few weeks.
Geet panted & handed him a bunch of books - ridz's ke sis ka hain, I heard them say this
its really important for the board exam, main ne sab photocopy kar liya
maan looks at them now he could relate to them a bit, since he just finished studying his whole
syllabus once. It had last year question papers, model question papers, also a book on how
to answer specific questions.. like 1-3-5 mark questions. He nodded & kept them aside.
Geet was confused ' u might be already having all this na?
He didn't reply, actually he never replied her in past 3 months.
Geet - OH NO.. I burned my complete 3 months pocket money in photocopying this, koi use nahi
He looked the disappointed in her eyes but didn't know what to say to make her feel better
he never knew what to say & said I will pay for this. She was not expecting that. Aap mujhe kyun
pay karoghe hitting him lovingly. Mera sab kuch aapka hi tho hain. Aur aapka mera. Agar mujhe kuchchahiya tho mang loongi.
