Imagine gives rap on the knuckles to BT
Imagine channel which is now owned by Ted TURNER American media giant is still coming to terms with the way the indian tv industry functions they bought IMAGINE CHANNEL from NDTV a few months back as part of their first foray into the Indian entertainment business
Balaji telefilms popular soap Bandini is the longest running and most successful show imagine has ever had on air. It was recently put under scanner by the channel to find out what exactly had gone wrong with it causing ratings to plummet, imagine's once top ranked show Bandini had reportedly done for the channel in terms of overseas subscriptions what none of its subsequent shows have been able to do so far.
On persistent viewers demands Turner tv
( who firmly believe the viewer is king in all their American productions) reportedly got the 16 yr leap track abandoned and another more viewer friendly and ratings conducive track put in its place
In consultation with BT heads drastic changes were rung in and according to reports the new gen cast recruited by BT were shown the door.These reports however remain unconfirmed
Imagine heads said nothing was static in soaps which should always
be ready for change and tracks malleable to audience response
