Who has been typecast in Bollywood?

😊 Another topic to make you use your thinking skills! I think of so many typecast actors/actresses, the list is endless. The obvious one is Shahrukh Khan in so many Johar/Chopra love stories. And the ones who have been typecast hurt their careers immensely (i.e., Rani, Preity). The only actor that does not get into the same movie role over and over again is Aamir Khan. However, noone can be like him!!

Very honestly I don't think any actor or actress gets themselves into the same role. I think each and every role is unique and different from the other. Now that doesn't mean that the roles cannot be similar. For example Rani may have worked under the same banner for some time, but I thought that each of her roles in the films were vastly different from the other. Yes similarity did exist between some roles. But the role was DIFFERENT. That pretty much goes for every actor/actress. It seriously would be so boring if they did the same role in two different films. Anyways probably no one is going to agree with my opinion, but this is my opinion. Although the roles may be similar, I don't think any have been identical thus far.

Akshay Kumar : dumb comedies
Ritesh Deshmukh : dumb comedies
Kangana Ranut: psychotic characters
Emraan hashmi: sex addict

Keep in mind that this is based on the majority of movies they do, not ALL the movies. I'm sure there are more actors but this is it for now. 😊

I disagree about Rani's roles being different under the Yash Raj banner. The only roles I found different were Saathiya, Hum Tum, and Bunty Aur Babli. It seems like her roles in Thoda Pyar Thoda Magic, Dil Bole Hadipaa, and Tara Rum Pum Pum were very similar to what she did! She did get typecast and a lot of critics said these roles were nothing special like a Black, Yuva, or even Veer Zaara. I hope you try to see where I am coming from! 😛

Oh I never said anything about that. Clearly her role in Black, Yuva, Veer Zaara etc were far more superior than her other roles. They were much stronger, much more power packed! I'm def not denying that. But I don't think any two roles were the same.
