"Mann Ki Awaaz Pratigya" was supposed to be about how a girl fights for women's rights and stands up against chauvinistic men. But are these the lessons we get from the serial?
The eldest EDUCATED Suxena daughter, Pratigya, was stalked and forced to marry SARAKCHAAP and ILLITERATE Krishna. At last, she fell in love with him and adjused to her role as a good "Thakur" bahu (Doesn't matter if her family had to undergo humiliation from Krishna and his father!)
The second EDUCATED Suxena daughter, Aarushi, had the choice to marry either, Aman, who was previously married, or Shakti, who was again previously married. Are married men the only potential suitors a young educated and unmarried girl can have?
The "Sacha" and "liberal" father who taught his daughters to stand up for themselves had no choice and had to allow them to marry "Sarakhchaap" and illiterate "Thakur Gundas"!
Wow! Love the lessons we are getting from Pratigya. If that is how women should stand up for themselves, I am better off without any lessons about feminism from Pearl Grey at all!
Go Gundas, go! You can have educated young girls for yourselves with your Gundagiri! Their "liberal" fathers won't be able to stand your forcefulness and coercion. Go get 'em, bhai!
