You have got good choice man - this song (Sapnon se bhare naina) is a test of range. One of the most difficult - only Sniti could have done justice to the song, leave apart anyone from this season, but even from other season too - its not easy.

Ah thanks yep she sang better than the Mentor.

Why jump into a competition at a given chance? She is a contestant, and mentor is just accompanying - not competing. Yea, she certainly sang better as better is expected from a singer than a music composer (Shekhar is a composer first, and singer later).

That said, in that rendition, the way she sings "Mastaane hazaron ..." is still ringing in my ear... it just cuts through any ambient noise and hits your innermost! Truly amazing!

Ha ha just joking about Shekar ji. He is a bit rusty as he is now a composer.
He is too nice a guy. I think he was singing in a key that is not his normal key (as he wanted to accompany Shiti). But the combination of the songs was fabulous..

As someone else noted: everyone has a diff favorite. That shows, the singer she was on the stage, and the singer she is going to be in the future to come!
Personally, I don't think she will be ever be a mainstream Bollywood singer, like Shreya Ghoshal (extremely sweet) or Sunidhi Chauhan (extremely versatile). But then there will be a few songs she can do neither Shreya or Sunidhi can dare to attempt. She will be in a class of her - unlike anyone.

😊 Peace bro! 😊
Even though he sounded little rusty, he played and sang well - and also introduced some variations, which are cool.

On a separate note, I cannot stress more on the variation part - Doing a copy-paste job on a song is not that difficult for a good singer - but what really makes a good to great to awesome singer is how one modifies the original and puts in his/her own words. This season, I do watch just because of Kamal and Sniti (sigh!) who are examples of this.

This is one of the Best performances of Sniti
A gifted singer who just wants to sing without any side shows and distractions

BTW, Summer3 Thank you so much for starting this thread... and sharing the song 'Mora Saiyyan' ... I cannot tell you how many times I have heard this already ... its become a 'nasha' for me as the emcee Purab said...

Listen at 3:11 of the song: even very seasoned vocalists cannot do such mature variations. Simply amazing!

You are quite right n future is too far to tell. She could be a great composer or an MD in future.
As they say the market does not need a Shreya clone but something different. So far many good singers have somehow failed due to one reason or other. From these shows we have seen several great singers like Nihira, Sumedha, Aishwarya, Debu, Vaishali, Anwesha, Poonam etc Many give up halfway or get distracted
I believe a singer has to be one of the best in a certain genre to do well.

Yes true. I am a fan of Shekar ji myself. 😆
Kamal Bhai is good and he should do well. He should learn how to market his skills like Raja.
