Hello,
I just read the TB article and don't get it. In fact now I don't seem to understand many things.
Questions/ thoughts
a) If Priya is a rape victim, and given the temperament of her father, isn't it logical that they would have filed a case and would be still fighting it.
So given this, does it take them so long to figure out that the Jhakar family they were hanging out with is SSP Jhakar's family.
b) What is the first reaction that a rape victim who is visibly scared of policemen would do. ....run in the opposite direction when policemen are around. But Priya and family had no visible urge to go away from the Jhakars in the train or in Mansa Devi. How is this possible?
c) People are finding Priya's reaction funny. Well I am finding Aditya's reaction funny. That Rakesh and Riddhi share a great chemistry is awesome.
But the characters defy logic. On one hand Aditya is shown as a sensible mature person. And on the other hand he is so lovestruck that he is in love with a girl who fell in his arms on a railway platform.....What if she was a married woman who forgot to wore her mangalsutra or from another religion with no visible ornaments or signs showing that she is married??
By that logic, we should have Romeos in every crowed Indian railway station. Phew!!
And the biggest question
d) How Come Priya fails to get any hint that the SSP Jhakar's family that she is travelling with is none other than the rapist policeman Jhakar. If one is raped by an unknown man, well he is not going to announce his name and address and rape you.
But if the rapist is a policeman, who in flashbacks is wearing the uniform whilst committing the heinous act, and who as we all know would wear a badge. then.....knowing his name would not be a problem, and should Priya not recognise the surname.
Making the SSP a rapist is good for TRPs.........but sadly some thought should have gone in the built up to this development.
Thanks

Hello hello.. i will respond!!

Were did you read that SSP is the rapist? Sorry got to go from the beginning.
Also i dont think anyone mentioned the name or SSP infront of Priya's family. Even in today's epi, Pradhan uncle was surprised when Aditya said mere papa bhi the.
So not sure if she actually knows. And there werent any battons of policemen around during Mansa devi darshan i think. I remember during the railway station scene there were so many.
All from my short memory!

@Kasturilover...Hi there. I think it is too early to make any judgement. Article notwithstanding, we have not been shown what happened to Priya, what she saw etc. The writers have done a great job of keeping the logic flowing smoothly so far...so have faith and wait till the whole truth of what happened is revealed.

I do not think Priya is exposed to SSP. I did miss watching a few episodes. So I cannot comment on that.

Regarding the police complaint, they must have faced the problem filing the case itself. as SSP is a powerful man.

But after reading the article, I felt bad for Devyani. They did give hints on SSP dark past, like in the promo during initial days where he catches Masi's hand and Masi is shocked to see it is SSP.

Eventually I feel Rishab will be come out as a Saint in all this.😊

Love at first sight is cinematic liberty.

Hi vaishalini, darlunia and crms,

Many thanks for responding, much appreciate.😊

Allow me to clarify why I wrotre that. I can understand cinematic liberties and that this is still early days as I mentioned.
But for a serial which otherwise is bang on when it comes to reality, its kind of loosely written so far as the Priya track is concerned.
Because in today's contemporary India, for every Priya, there is a Jessica Lal, or for that matter a Ruchika Girhotra.👏👏👏👏
Yes agreed that they had to fight long and hard.......with many failures in between......
Jessica got justice after her death and after 11 years......
And Ruchika's justice, despite her death, is still in waiting.
But the fact is that they had immense media and public support in their fight for justice.........and they were against powerful people in the system.........politicians and policemen
But they fought back.
For all the so called real take.......Priya's suffering seems to be aimed more at milking the Adi love track than the real fight.
About what else but😳...........
Maryada.

Questions/ thoughts
a) If Priya is a rape victim, and given the temperament of her father, isn't it logical that they would have filed a case and would be still fighting it.
As evident by the epiosde aired on 20th November, it is clear that Priya did not know the name or rank of the man who attempted to rape her. Priya and her Father tried to file a case but they could not get ahead with it, because they did not have any details on the culprit and the police department did not cooperate with them.
So given this, does it take them so long to figure out that the Jhakar family they were hanging out with is SSP Jhakar's family.
Priya hardly interacted with anyone from the Jhakar family apart from Aditya...and given her state of mind, it is very natural that she would take no interest in either Aditya or his family, hence it would be very far fetched for her to connect the dots and get to know that the family they were travelling with was none other than Priya's culprit's own family.
b) What is the first reaction that a rape victim who is visibly scared of policemen would do. ....run in the opposite direction when policemen are around. But Priya and family had no visible urge to go away from the Jhakars in the train or in Mansa Devi. How is this possible?
Priya and her family only know that the Jhakar's are a VIP family, there was no evidence to prove that someone from the family was a high-ranking police officer. And if you noticed, Priya and her family do try to avoid the Jhakar's as best as they can.
c) People are finding Priya's reaction funny. Well I am finding Aditya's reaction funny. That Rakesh and Riddhi share a great chemistry is awesome.
Even I find Aditya's reaction towards Priya to be a bit unrealistic! I understand the bit about falling in love at first sight...but his impulsiveness is too much to digest, especially his insistence on getting married to a girl whom he hadly knows!
Welcome to the world of Indian Television!😆

I think this question also got answered to you from November 20th episode! Priya never knew the name or designation of the man, only his face and the fact that he was a senior police officer.
But if the rapist is a policeman, who in flashbacks is wearing the uniform whilst committing the heinous act, and who as we all know would wear a badge. then.....knowing his name would not be a problem, and should Priya not recognise the surname.
This is actually a blooper! The creatives have shot two different scenes! One where the SSP is in his uniform and handcuffing Priya, throwing her on the floor of the train compartment and the other where he is in his civil clothes and tries to molest Priya! The story has either been changes somewhere or maybe something yet is to be revealed!
Making the SSP a rapist is good for TRPs.........but sadly some thought should have gone in the built up to this development.
Thanks
