IMAGINE TV programming head gave an exclusive interview to ndtv india here are excerpts:
Q. why are you wrapping up nachle ve so soon?
A. we are disappointed with the overall performance of this show and its ratings are below are fiction shows BAVD, GKD & BANDINI
So we will end this within a week we will keep the 7 to 8 pm slot free in case we need it for our new shows.
Q. there is a rumour RS is ending so you will show a lot of one hour episodes and bid farewell to it soon?
A.maybe maybe not nothing decided as of now cant comment.
Q.Which is the next fictional programme on imagine to go off air?
A. Its jyoti. we will replace with AARAKSHAN our new show on reservation policy.
Q. Why are ratings of your shows so low?
A. We hope this will soon not be the case.
Q. Why do your soaps not win much awards?
A. this is wrong info, BANDINI has won numerous awards for best actor its again nominated in the indian telly awards lets hope for the best.
I would like to add here its not a question of arbitrarily pulling off a show & replacing it with another. we have to see the time slot and whether the replacement can get trp at that slot. I would say 10.30 pm weekday slot is THE MOST DIFFICULT to get trp at. SO BANDINI which is about to complete two years this January has done amazingly well so far, kudos to Balaji & Ms Ekta Kapoor.
