I am a big time foodie : Hunar Hali

Hunar Hali

Hunar who was last seen in 12/24 Karol Bagh apparently has a knack for baking yummy cakes. We caught up with this pretty actress to know more about her cooking tastes

Personal fitness mantra: My only mantra is happiness. I feel happy when I eat food.

Personal diet mantra: No such mantra. I forget eating for a couple of hours, altogether. But I know when I want to eat pizza or something then I hit the gym.

Exercise routine: If I feel I am gaining weight I go to the gym. I am not that conscious about weight. I run a lot.

Is food the elixir of life?
Totally! I don't like people who bother too much about food and weight issues.

Are you a foodie?
Completely, big time!

Are you a vegetarian or non-vegetarian?
I am a hardcore non-vegetarian.

Favourite cuisine: I love Moghlai food like butter chicken, Caesar salad. I basically love Indian food.

Favourite dish: Butter chicken and butter naan.

Favourite restaurant: I like Just Around the Corner in Bandra. The salads are to die for!

A must on my breakfast table: Skimmed milk, wheat flakes, chocos, toast or garlic bread.

Sugar or sugar-free for my tea/coffee: No sugar at all.

Lunch generally consists of… I generally skip lunch because I forget to have my lunch.

For high-tea you would prefer… I generally don't have fixed meals. It depends when I get up
and when I feel like eating.

Dinner generally consists of… I love non-vegetarian food. But when I am shooting I ensure to have tea.

Dessert delights… I love Amore's sorbets and blueberry cheese cake.

My favourite drink (non-alcoholic): Ginger Ale.

My favourite drink (alcoholic): Red Wine and vodka with tonic water.

At parties I have: Vodka with tonic water.

Most unusual dish I've tasted: Sushi is something I wouldn't ever want to taste again.

Experiment with food: I love cooking and experimenting with food. If I am making fish I put different masalas into it.

On the streets, I love to have… Pani Puri.

Do you cook?Yes I Cook and I cook very well. (smiles)

Favourite recipe: Butter Chicken and cakes. I make lovely cakes which the whole unit used to relish.

Ingredients:
4 eggs
1 bowl of white butter
2 tea spoons oil
One bowl powdered sugar (for those who can't get powdered sugar, normal sugar would do)
1 table spoon baking powder
Small amount of cocoa powder

Method:

Add the butter and the eggs in a bowl. Mix them well until frothy. Then add the powdered sugar and also check the quantity. When it is properly mixed, add two bowls of maida, along with little baking powder and mix it well.

In a separate bowl take little cocoa powder, mix four Bournville chocolates. Then add melted butter along with the cake batter into it. Ensure you mix it well.

Now for the baking part, some microwaves have convection system while some don't. Preheat the oven to 180 degrees for browning. When it is heated put the cake batter into it for five minutes. After five minutes, check if it's brown if not keep it in for some more time. Then remove it and put the knife through it to check if done. If it comes clean your cake is ready to be eaten.

Thanks nycsweetie for this belated article.
This daring bon vivant & bon viveur was one fit gal and it showed .

BTW first it became very obvious that the roof top where they did the theme song was right close to Lal Quila somewhere in Chandni Chowk roof top and not at all in Karol-Bagh.😛
