Just b'cos an American middle aged couple (probably a baby-boomer) did it doesn't make it remotely ethical - an overwhelming majority of people across societies would find it unacceptable. I happen to be pro-choice on abortion, euthanasia, split on embryonic stem cells but there's no way I'd even dream of creating such a baby if my kid had such an illness. For one thing, just as the blood group of a sibling might be different (one might take dad's, & the other mom's), there's no guarantee that the bone marrow would be compatible either, although the probability is high. And unlike adults who can donate things like bone marrow, stem cells etc more easily, it's a lot more dangerous to do that w/ young kids.

Let's forget that Jyoti has any rights for the moment, since Jyoti herself forgets it all too easily. Pankaj somehow seems to forget that if he has another kid w/ Jyoti, that kid too will have his/her own individulality & rights. What if a doc then tells him that to save Roshni, this kid's life would be endangered, what would Pankaj do? Just pick Roshni, like he seems to be claiming now? He also promised a court that he'd forsake all claim to Roshni if he found out she was his, but conveniently forgot that the moment St Brij revealed THE TRUTH to him. So if Jyoti went ahead w/ her plan, it may still result in one of them - Roshni or her sibling - being lost, thereby defeating the purpose of such a 'lofty sacrifice'.

Then both of them would be grieving, but Pankaj would have the sadistic satisfaction of knowing that despite treating Jyoti like toilet paper, she still belongs to him. If that's the message that the CVs are even considering, it's worth saying goodbye to this serial.
