Krishna had just told him point blank that his anger at Prats was unfounded, biased based on his prejudice against her. KN throws the truth at him and he bends over a man weighed by the his past.

I found some wonderful quotes that aptly described the emotional state of each of the Takurs in y'day's episode. I see KN as using it to defend himself from a maha prasad on the one side an take a cue from Krishna to state the reality of the situation on the other. He was trying to protect himself from SS's wrath. He spoke the truth but his dark mind was exposed when he didn't step up to save his wife. He was actually angry that Prats saved her. Is it too late to expect there is any goodness left in him or is it so deeply buried that there is still hope.

Krishna has to be a strong person to withstand all the pressure of becoming like one of them and fights to save his soul. Good for him!

Mera, my gut feeling is Shakti is too far gone.
He will never change. I think he actually takes pleasure from hurting another being. The day he followed his mother's instruction to beat kesar, without even questioning, showed he has no morals or ethics, not even the basic human emotion of compassion let alone empathy!! Therefore he is too gone. He should be shot dead like a rapid mad dog, because sooner or later he will turn on his own.

Yes he will. He will go after his mother and father. Nothing is beyond him, nothing is wrong in his eyes. The saddest thing is, his own parents have taught him this.
Krishna has risen above his environment. The seed of goodness in him has been nourished and now flowering, all because of Pratigya. I believe he would have made it on his own, but it would have taken him longer because he would have been fighting to break through years of indoctrination.
But you and I had seen certain signs and emotions, even before his marriage where he disliked what his father did to his mother. But it is only when the love of his life looked set to be on the receiving end, he started to break away from the old ways.

That was the lowest of the low shakti, can go😡 one of the weakest excuse an abuser can come up with. I so wish for SS, to hit him....Two brothers (Shakti & Krishna), grew up in the same home how different they are. Shakti, hate kesar, if his father would have love his wife and not beat her, shakti still would have been an abuser.
Mia,
Children who witness abuse do actually grow up to become the abuser or the abused. It is a statistical fact that many will be pre-disposed and therefore need help, but , there are some lucky one's who do manage to break the cycle. In this case, it is Krishna and perhaps Komal as well.
Shakti, by his very nature is pre-disposed to being violent. I'm not making excuse for him at all. As far as he was concerned, he did no wrong because he saw his father doing it to his mother. That is so sad. People in real life, like him, rarely think they are being wrong and therefore shun all help.
My reason for the topic was to highlight an important dialogue that got buried amongst high drama. I really wish that the Cvs had dedicated an episode to this, where Shakti makes his speech and then we see everyone's reaction and what they do. It would have been very powerful. Abuse takes all forms and shapes, many people unaware that their behavior is abusive. Children do pick up on it, an episode such as this would have made people think twice about their actions in front of their children.
I so love this abuse track, Cvs are doing a tremendous job.
Should Adarsh, hit Komal, infront of Shakti, he will be ready to beat Adarsh, to a pulp. He would never say to Komal, well our father hit our mother, and she takes it quietly so you should do the same.
If Krishna, beat up pratz, day and night, calling her names, shakti , will be happy, praise his brother calling him a man. This guy is full of hatred towards his wife, he dosen't love her so he abused her.

I know, with Shakti he is protective of his sister, I think it has to do with his mother being abused as he could not protect her but he can look after his sister...but you know what if he is crossed he will beat up komal, the indication is there. Also if he was to remarry he will do the same. He hates kesar because of her skin colour, which is an excuse because look at his parents!, but mostly because she is a soft target. In fact, any women not related to him, he can beat them and no problem at all.
I really wish Kesar would turn around one day and just give him a big whack !!...just imagine Shakti's face!...his eyes would bulge, mouth will drop open....then if he lifts his hand again, I want Kesar to give him a karate kick on his family jewels..😃😃...SS will definitely cry then, for shakti having children will be one misty dream..😡😡🤢....Then she can start on her MIL...I will be👏

Komal said it right the day she caught her mother red handed with trying to fry Prats. She told her mother you have given birth to animals and now that I am trying to be human you have a problem with it. A truth that choked Takurain like poison.

I refuse to use the term Amma to describe such a person.

Mera, the day she caused KN to beat Kesar, I stopped using the A word for her. Now she is Thakurain.
She is a creature that defies description. Even an animal looks after it's young. This woman will kill any child in that house, because her hatred will spill over to everyone and anyone around her. She is filled with toxic matter, and just wants to spread it.🤢

DG,

I was watching an old episode the other day when Amma was scolding Krishna for thinking to kidnap Pratigya. She was disgusted by the thought that a son of hers can even contemplate doing such a thing, how it affects the victim and all.....How times have changed where she has played a hand in killing her own grandchild and from the looks of it eventually lose her son to her evil deeds. Now Krishna will in future be disgusted that she is actual his mother.

Starlight,
She was nice in the begining, or so it looked. I remember the scene well. But my theory is that she is very possesive about her sons, especially Krishna. So she said those words hoping to stop him from bringing P into their home. She realised her son is very serious about this girl and it scared her, because P will become no.1 in his life. He made it clear all he wants is Pratigya.
Her hatred started and took root from Kriya engagment. If u can see that episode then do so. While guests are mingling, couple of women gossip about how for the first time a woman in the Thakur household is getting respect - Thakurain hears this and u should see the look on her face.
The gossip was due to Krishna calling P, Pratigyji, and treating her and her family respectfully. The second incident was after the wedding. Women come to see P, when they do they go to the Thakurain ' you are lucky, your bahu is so white'...and I think they say other things, once again Thakurain gets a dark look on her face. The final nail was when she found out that P did not let K touch her...Pesiya came running to tell her when she see's the untouched bed.......The anger and hatred fanned into flames, it erupted during the naming havan but she was stopped by SS.......and the hatred just burned stronger and stronger until P confirmed all her accusations in front of all the Thakurs and Saxena's that she did not let K touch her at all.....
Now she is out of control, I really believe she is the main villain. Whatever you say about SS, at his core he does love Krishna very much. His mother? she just wants to control him and because she can't now, she is ruthless about punishing him whichever way it pleases her.

I totally agree with you...especially the bold bits!! ....even I think although SS is the one who abused her ...I can still see SS redeeming himself because of his love for krishna!!.....But it can't be said about Amma!!....the years of abuse at the hands of her husband had made her vile from inside!!...her ability to love has been totally dimished or buried very deep within ( which we recently saw a glimpse of with krishna).....that it would be really hard for her to redeem herself!!
