Rohit to get the party started
Nuzhat Aziz
Wednesday, March 22, 2006 18:07 IST

Actor Rohit Roy is going places. He is travelling extensively for a countdown show for Zee Music.

"I will be travelling to the discotheques and pubs of London, Scotland, Amsterdam and other countries. It will be an exciting experience," he says. The actor has already shot at Banana Boat in Mauritius which was aired as a special episode.

After 'Sarrkkar', which will wrap up in April, Rohit will also be seen in 'Virasat'. Talking about his role he says, "My character will be different from what I have been doing in 'Sarrkkar'. I play a lover boy and believe that it's only love which makes the world go round. It will have shades of Aamir Khan's role in 'Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak'."

Rohit says that 'Sarrkkar' has finally given him a platform as an actor. "Till now people only bothered about my looks. But my performance in 'Sarrkkar' has established me as an actor," he says. On a lighter note he adds, "Actors who are not so good-looking get recognised as actors first. It's so easy for them."

Rohit has also signed another Bollywood film. Not revealing much he says, "It is the story of eight friends. It's a multi-starrer with a character-driven plot." He confesses, "Doing films is my first love. But people who aspire to be Bollywood actors should begin with the small-screen. TV is a great platform to learn."
