Singer and composer Palash Muchhal has shared a spiritual update even as he faces a legal controversy in Maharashtra. A case has been registered against him in Sangli over allegations of cheating and caste based abuse under the SC ST Act.
Amid this situation, Palash posted photos from his visit to Khatu Shyam Ji and Salasar Balaji temple on Instagram. In the images, he is seen bowing before the deity. He captioned the post, “Jahan sir jhuka, wahan sukoon mila.” He also mentioned, “Khatu Shyam Ji Salasar Balaji Jeevan Mata Ji.” Notably, he turned off the comments section, a move seen as an attempt to avoid public reactions during the ongoing issue.
The complaint has been filed by Vignyan Mane, a social worker from Sangli and a childhood friend of cricketer Smriti Mandhana, who was earlier engaged to Palash. According to the FIR, Mane has accused the singer of financial cheating and using casteist language during a professional interaction.

He further claimed that during a meeting in Sangli, Palash made offensive remarks targeting a specific community. The case has been registered under relevant sections, including provisions of the SC ST Prevention of Atrocities Act.
Police have begun their investigation and have reportedly formed teams to look into the matter. Further details are awaited as officials continue their probe.
Speaking about the incident, the complainant said, “On November 22, 2025, when he was in Sangli, I, along with my friends, met him in person. During this meeting, we realised that we had been deceived. At the same time, he made deeply offensive and casteist remarks about a particular community, which I have detailed in my FIR, as they are not appropriate to repeat publicly.”
