Television actor Manasi Salvi has found herself in the middle of a legal and professional dispute that is steadily drawing attention within the industry. Best known for her role as Bhanu Bajpai in Mahadev & Sons, the actor recently confirmed that she has initiated a defamation case against the show’s producer, alleging that facts surrounding her exit have been misrepresented.

The situation appears to have unfolded alongside reports of her moving on to a new project. According to industry buzz, Manasi has signed on for an upcoming show backed by Cockrow and Shaika Entertainment, which is expected to air on Zee TV. Sources suggest that she formally committed to the new show in mid April 2026 and soon after communicated her intention to exit Mahadev & Sons. It is believed that she requested to be relieved from her current obligations by mid May.

However, the production team of Mahadev & Sons has presented a different version of events. A source associated with the show claimed that Manasi stopped reporting to the set unless she received written confirmation regarding her exit. The team reportedly expedited her pending scenes and later informed her that she would be required to adhere to the terms of her contract, which, according to them, includes a six month notice period. The same source further alleged that taking up another project before fulfilling contractual obligations would amount to a breach, and that legal action could follow if she proceeds.

Responding to these claims, Manasi shared that she was compelled to make certain communications public to clarify her stance. Speaking to The Free Press Journal, she revealed an email from the production team that indicated they would complete her track by May 15, 2026, and allowed her to collect her signed agreement. According to the actor, this communication suggested a mutual understanding regarding her exit.

However, the matter took another turn when she reportedly received a subsequent email on May 1, retracting the earlier approval and asking her to continue under the existing agreement. This reversal, she implied, contributed to the ongoing conflict and ultimately led her to pursue legal action.

As the situation continues to unfold, it highlights the complexities of contractual commitments in the television industry, where overlapping schedules and shifting agreements can quickly escalate into disputes. For now, both sides remain firm in their positions, and the final resolution may depend on how the legal proceedings progress in the coming weeks.
