Karan Johars We Are Family , saw Kajol and Kareena paired opposite to each other. It is heard that Kareena Kapoor has outshone Kajol throughout the flick.

The film We Are Family is a remake of a Hollywood flick, Stepmom. Maximum of the audience, after watching the film liked Kareena's performance over Kajol. They felt Kareena's charm was visible all over, sidelining Kajol completely.

Rumour has it that Kareena has been opted for Ajay Devgan's second directorial venture which he's likely to announce very soon. Ajay Devgan chose Kareena instead of Kajol as they rocked together in Omkara and so Ajay wants to recreate that magic with his second directorial venture. The two will also be seen together in Ashtavinayak's Golmaal Returns which is set for release later this year.

That's news to me... All the reviews that I read said it was Kajol through & through...

I suppose this article is for those that worship Bebo and who unfortunately haven't seen the film in muliti plex...

No guys there was a critic who when reviewing WAF said kareena stole the show! I thing there were probably more than one critic who thought that kareena stole the show but am not sure!! But I def know there was a review saying kareena stole the show!!! And some non kareena fans who saw the film said kareena stole the show! Some thought kajol stole the show some think kareena stole the show! I personally thought they both did good in their different roles!! But as a kareena fan, am just proud of bebo for holding her own next to kajol who by the way had an author backed role! While kareena's role wasn't as good as kajol's! Am just happy that a critic said that from the top actress only kareena can hold her own next to kajol and almost all reviews appreciated kareena! I don't know about the other bebo fans, but am proud of Bebo!!!

than what is this? Apparently some critics thought they were both good. Here is a boxoffice review and what they thought about the performance.

Performance-wise, who scores over whom? Now that's a debatable debate! If Kajol is brilliant in one scene, Kareena has the upper-hand in the next. If Kajol scores ten on ten in the emotional scenes, Kareena speaks volumes with her expressions. If Kajol gives her best at being a strict mother, the kids will love Kareena, a new-age, friendly mom. There's no telling who's better but one thing's certain – only these two actresses could have made this film what it is. Perfect casting!

What's not:

Director Siddharth Malhotra turning the movie into one big Balaji soap. Every scene is overlydramatic sans the triple pan shots and slowmotion crying. They even have a 20year leap No Kidding.

iDiva verdict:

Kajol gets a thumbsup but sorry to say its Kareena Kapoor who gives a clear standout performance

Kajol is at her natural best. She captures the helplessness and anguish of Maya flawlessly. Arjun Rampal scores again after Raajneeti. It's not easy to hold your own in a women-oriented script but Arjun manages to surpass all expectations. The scene-stealer of WAF is Kareena Kapoor -- probably in her most restrained portrayal to date. She matches Kajol's cracking prowess in every confrontational scene. And she makes Shreya's character far more endearing than the script intended to. Supremely in command as a young girl having a family and children thrust upon her, Kareena is a delight on screen.

I think I made my point now. Not all thought kajol stole the show. :)

Last time I heard, Kajol had been finalized. Either way, I wouldn't mind Kareena opposite Ajay because I really liked them in Omkara. They have this unusual chemistry!

The point I'm making has nothing to do with performace - it's to do with the article. BO wise this film is not doing so well in the over seas market and this article is directed for those that might not have seen it. Kareena is the top actress and the emphasize is solely based on that. "Come see WAF for Kareena. Like hello there are other factors in the film then just her.

And I do appriciate the time you took to find the article to make your point. I haven't seen the film so I can't say whether I agree or disagree with a perticular critique and that's because Julia Roberts performance is still too fresh in mind. But the moment Step mom fades my memory I'll have WAF a look. 😉
