Alia Bhatt shares how daughter Raha’s birth has changed her approach to work

Alia Bhatt has spoken about how motherhood has changed the way she approaches work, saying she is content doing one film at a time after the birth of her daughter, Raha. In a recent interview with ETimes, the actor shared that while her passion for films remains the same, the pace at which she works has shifted.

Alia, who welcomed Raha in November 2022, said motherhood naturally led her to slow down. “Of course, the volume and the speed at which I work now are different because I have a child. But it’s a comfortable pace, and I’m happy with it. I like doing one film at a time and giving it all my energy. Earlier, I would do two or three films simultaneously, but I don’t want to do that anymore,” she said.

The actor added that this change has not made her less ambitious. Instead, it has helped her focus more deeply on each project she chooses. Alia has consistently spoken about wanting her work to feel fulfilling, rather than rushed, especially at this stage of her life.

She also reflected on shooting the action film Alpha after becoming a mother. Speaking about the physical demands, Alia said, “Doing action after having a baby was very interesting because it allowed me to see what my body is capable of. It was such a learning experience, and it gave me a lot of respect for my body.”

Beyond work, Alia has often shared small glimpses of her life as a mother. In an interview with Allure magazine, she described Raha as “naughty and chatty,” calling her a bright child who also has shy moments. Alia’s uncle, filmmaker Mukesh Bhatt, has earlier revealed that she often takes Raha along to work and that the toddler even has her own vanity van on sets.

On the professional front, Alia has two major projects lined up. She will next be seen in Shiv Rawail’s Alpha, an action film set in the YRF Spy Universe. The film also stars Sharvari and Bobby Deol and is scheduled for a theatrical release in 2026.

Apart from Alpha, Alia is also part of Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Love & War. The film features Ranbir Kapoor and Vicky Kaushal in lead roles, is currently under production, and is slated to release in 2026. Together, these projects reflect her measured but focused approach to work after motherhood.
