Karan was born in Delhi India to a Sikh family. Him and his family later moved to Saudi Arabia, and he lived there for twelve years. He spent his childhood and schooling days in Dammam, Saudi Arabia. He did his schooling in International Indian School of Dammam. He had a band during his college days called Thousand Decibels. In 2000 he moved back to Mumbai and pursued a degree in Hotel Management from IHM Mumbai, Dadar Catering College. After completing his degree Karan moved to Muscat in Oman where his family was located and started working at the Sheraton Hotel as a marketing executive for about a year.
He later returned to India to pursue his acting career and participated in the Gladrags Mega Model Manhunt contest in 2004 and won the award for 'Most Popular Model'. He started his acting career with Kitni Mast Hai Zindagi for Balaji Telefilms on MTV Indiaafter being selected from a nation wide talent hunt. Karan is from a Punjabi Sikh family hailing from Ambala, Haryana. Currently Karan's parents stay in Delhi. Karan currently lives in Mumbai along with his brother Ishmeet Singh .
Television career :
Before starting his television acting career he did many modeling assignments, ramp shows, advertisements and even hosted a radio show. Later he entered the Gladrags Mega Model Manhunt Contest in
2004 and ended up winning the award for the 'Most Popular Model.'Then through a nationwide talent hunt contest by Balji telefilms he, along with five others, got selected to play leads in an MTV show Kitni Mast Hai Zindagi. Then followed Princess Dollie Aur Uska Magic Bag finally ending up in kasauti zindagi ki in a negative role. After that, he did Solhah Singaarr on Sahara One and some short stints on C.I.D and Parivaar, before doing the role of Dr. Armaan Mallik in Dill Mill Gayye which made him a household name with lots of fan following. He anchored the StarOne reality television show zara nachke dikha He was the second runner-up in the dance reality show - jhalak dikhla jaa Season 3. From September-December 2009 he co-hosted the show Idea Rocks India on Colors TV. Currently he is playing the role of a senior doctor in the 2nd season of Dill Mill Gayye. He will also be a partcipant of the highly-successful reality show, Fear Factor - khatron ke khiladi. Shooting in Brazil starts on August 15, 2010.

Before going into the series - what did they expect from Priyanka Chopra as the host of Level 3?
I expect her to be everything that the show demands ? be gutsy, daring and adventurous.
If you had to tell the viewers about what to expect from Priyanka Chopra in Level 3- how would you describe her?
She is extremely fit and sporty and I feel she is the ideal choice to host the show as she represents our generation perfectly

Because of the various different types of challenges they put you through?you really need to hold yourself together!
