Ranbir Kapoor, who is currently busy shooting for his movie Rockstar in Prague for director Imtiaz Ali took time out exclusively for his fans at RKF to answer a few questions on his forthcoming movie Anjaana Anjaani.
What's the first thing you thought about this morning?
Rockstar has taken my entire headspace and thats whats only on my mind 24/7. Also I'm down with a bad throat infection (too much smoking ? have to have to quit).
What was the one thing that made you sign Anjaana Anjaani?
I think the story, genre, NEW YORK city, character in that order
Since the movie is said to be inspired from so many great love stories, did you have someone particular in mind while portraying his character?
I think AA is just a simple love story, original with a kinda different hook to it and really good music. Dont promise a classical love story but guarantee fun, laughter, smiles and tears (I hope).
How sure were you that there would be rumors flying about you and PC in tabloids during the shoot of the movie?
I think im just a soft target for the frustrated Indian press to link me up randomly with anybody and everybody I work with. Can't blame them too much also as they've also been extremely supportive of my work and career so far, have given me more then I deserve and I truly believe that; but PC is awesome to work with, really friendly and a great talent
Were you disappointed when you didn't find any?
It actually feels nice to finish a movie and not be linked with the co-star of a film, its how its meant to be.
What do you remember/miss the most from the shoot of this movie ?
Spending time in New York(went there after 8yrs). Strangely, I was in an isolated phase of my life, just enjoyed spending time with myself alone in the city, walking around, eating good steak, watching movies, running in central park and actually just procrastinating.
If you were the writer of AA, would your approach to the film be any different than the director's?
Yeah I always have a different approach to the films I do, which usually takes the director a lot of talking and hanging out with me to do, to convince me of his vision. Once that is out of the way, I try and support the directors vision as much as I can. He's the director of the film and he should know the movie better then his actors, thats how it should be and fortunately for me, its been that way with all the films I've done so far.
Who is better, Sid the person or Sid the director ?
Sid the food connoisseur.
Your favorite moment in the movie
Honestly, I havent seen the film yet and I really lose objectivity on the film I'm working on.
Your fav song from it
Tujhe bhula diya.
