Remember !if a woman can love a someone else's child as she would love if it were her own then she will not need that the child necessarily be from the same family.

even if you took it from a psychological point of view she taking away Damini's child would not only create immense emotional stress on damini and her kids but also on Ganga as she always knew and loved them as aunt(even if she loved them as much as damini her self did),I mean its a mind set,its rather easier to accept new relationships(that wud be if she adopted a orphan child) than change the concept of an already existing one.We are Humans, our minds are more complex than we think they are, human relations cannot be changed as if we would change or EXCHANGE our clothes.

Know what in real life situations if charecters Damini and Ganga do not undergo extreme emotional trauma then they actually are NOT mentally healthy, its physiological, beyond humanbeing's control.

Exactly,  Ganga and Damini can have different ways of raising their kids.  Now what if after Damini giving her child away to Ganga, and years pass by and she doesn't like Ganga's ways of raising the kid?  There will ALWAYS be conflicts that can arise from the littlest things.
