So since it is not okay to be westernized about some intimacy or so, let's not become westernized in the doctrine of applying technology or women empowerment too. So let's burn our brides, perform sati, and the lot!

If we did not have so-called westernization, today we would not be here on this technological platform that has advanced due to western minds too...

Double standards and absolute hypocrisy is the rampant problem at the core of such thinking that is based on half baked ideas on value drivers.

This post makes no sense, as the intelligent person learns the good from others and leaves the bad. Technology and medicine too is like that. We have taken the good from the western world, but that does not autmoatically mean we have to immitate them in everything, like their immodest intimacy. That makes no sense and no sensible person imitates every single thing from someone else.

That is probably because you do not consider the avis you are using in your siggy box as 'westernized'.😉

I apologize if you thought so, but not once did I mean to address you as a 12 year old. You and I know who the '12 year olds' are, and I do not want to point fingers, but they are the ones who leave one or two comments bashing other members just to defend their favorite show.
I consider you one of the mature members of this thread, thank you.😊

Hey @JanakiRaghunath!!!!

I totally understand what u mean
😳 But like many before me have said, this change in the show cannot be termed as westernization. That would be like going way too bold for the Indian audiences (If u've watched western shows, thats evident) and the CVs have planned the tracks keeping this in mind😃.

However, I have to agree with u on one point. And that is, though I consider GEET way better than DMG or MJHT, I sometimes get the feeling that when the romance gets too prolonged, it resembles these youth based shows. And though I personally dont mind this blossoming romance even a bit, I get thoroughly dissatisfied when I see my family members loosing interest to watch it.
And everytime the Maahi tune is played, thats what happens in my house as well as in my best friend's house.

As a true Maneetian I enjoy all their scenes to the core.
☺️ But I am also concerned with how older audiences react to it.😳 We as youngsters cannot keep pestering the CVs for more n more romantic n intimate scenes, if we want GEET to be a Super-Hit (though i know its already way beyond amazing now). If GEET has to gain popularity it should not be only online, but in all households and in print as well (How many articles about the show do we find in our Indian Newspapers?)🤔
Thats why, the TRPs of these serials showing hard-core Indian culture n traditions is always very high and the same goes for all those channels.

Initially for my dad, Star One was meant only for those youth who never had anything better to do in life.
🤪 And he made sure he kept telling me that whenever I watched DMG. But the moment he watched Geet he started liking it like hell.😆 And that was during the time they abandon her at the airport. But even now he loves ManEet. And the credit mostly goes to their fights and comedy rather than the romance.

Speaking of older audiences, the best example I can give is that of my granny's. She was hooked on to the show, when it was based in Hoshiarpur, however this Delhi setting doesn't seem to click with her.😕 She likes the comedy part of it, but again what we youngsters like is totally beyond her understanding and so she gets bored with all the scenes that generally appeal to me.

Another point that I liked of yours is what u mentioned in one of ur posts later, and that is about kids watching Geet.👍🏼 My personal experience again- Its my 8 year old sis and three of her friends who make it a point that they discuss what they saw in the previous days episode during their school recess. I have no idea about how the content of shows like Geet would affect kids in more developed countries, but in India, how much ever we may have progressed, parents will not like their children watching disco/club scenes, even if the scene is not at all vulgar. And this is an undeniable truth.😳

I know I have put in my opinion, based on whats been happening in my family. But the fact still remains, that such will be the case in 95% of Indian households, whether anyone here agrees or disagrees.😳

Neverhteless, the CVs are doing a gr8 job and are trying their best to balance the demands of us youngsters with regards to Maneet and the plot on the basis of which the show originally began.👍🏼 There are loads of people who started watching Geet only because of the Honor Killing, NRI fakes issue, etc. And if the show has to be on top it has to satisfy these audiences too.😊

No offence intended to anyone. But this was the opinion of a teenager who is torn between what she loves to watch in the show and what she would like to watch due to her surrounding environment.😕

@JanakiRaghunath: Somehow I feel, its good you started this topic 😊(though I don't fully agree with the way u framed it). I enjoyed reading everyones opinions and its nice to know how each one's viewpoint differs from the other.😳

@Janaki: no offense but reading what others have to say and the way you jump on them doesn't really seem like you are understanding our views....you only want to hear what you want to....so i requests the mods to close this topic....it's going to cause unnecessary fights and we're not getting anywhere with it.
