A lot of directors today are starting to make good roles for heroines. But, it hasn't always been like that. Here are examples of good heroine oriented roles which were successful and very rare to see:

Sridevi - Lamhe

Madhuri - HAHK

Tabu - Chandni Bar

Kajol - KKKH

Ash - HDDCS

Preity - Kya Kehna

Rani - Black

Priyanka - Fashion

Kareena - Jab We Met

i have heard that sri devi's lamhe was not a B.O hit, but it eventually became a landmark role for her career, i love the movie and specially anil kapoor without muchchi, though i prefer him with muchchi

Umrao Jaan - Rekha!!

In fact Rekha has done a number of women oriented roles, feisty ones at that e.g.Khoon Bari Maang
