Captains' Tactics

We're well aware that many of the captains are using tactics to bring their teams ahead such as underscoring certain teams, starting controversies to get the other teams points down, putting down their own team members as a means to get sympathy votes, etc. What I don't get is that all of these judges already have well-established careers. What is there motive for so desperately wanting to win? They don't need it. Yes, they want to show that they're the greatest, but really, nobody really cares if a celebrity wins an award on a reality tv show. In the midst of self-promotion, they're forgetting the people who really matter: their teammates. These "kids" need this kind of promotion to get a career that they've been working for. They're the ones that need it, not the captains. I mean, Aishwarya and Anwesha's are pretty much child prodigies and their stuck on these little shows. Himesh, at least, finally let go when he knew he had no chance of winning. Otherwise, he was keeping that last guy (that's how little he's come out, I don't even remember his name) to the side. He needs the promotion the most!

On that topic, this show is awful for publicizing new contestants. This isn't a complaint, but it stinks for the new ones apart from Rehman.

Anyway, my main point is that the captains need to stop acting so desperate for the win and start acting like real gurus by teaching their contestants how to get better and helping them build a foundation for a career.

you are absolutely right...I am sick too of the captains singing in this show..haven't we heard them enough? esp Shankar M is getting on my nerves..whenever Anwesha sings he comes from his team...singing with all the alaaps..which are becoming monotonous and boring now...I mean let the kid have her share of fame...out of all the captains he seems to be the most desperate one to me !

Yes, I do wish that we had seen more of the "chhupa rustums": they have truly been hidden away. I only know two, and the other day I heard the name Munnawar whom I totally missed seeing sing at all.

Maybe they should have chhupa rustum rounds or something!

We shouldn't belittling Shankar and his team always the reason why he has to come forward is that there is noone of the calibre of Anwesha in his team, he tried Rahul against her once Bawore song but unfortunately Anwesha got more marks in spite of being imperfect in her rendition everyone is unduly biased towards her it is as if no one stands a chance against her such is her aura what can the captain do but come forward and save his team, he is an extremely sweet person and so is Shaan but in the infatuation for Shaan's team the other captain is looked down upon, it is a very very sad state of affairs that he does not have a fan following despite singing so so so well.

What is Anwesha's rendition in front of his just an exact copy of the original !

I actually wasn't referring to Shankar's team. Although, I do think his singers should get more opportunities to sing. I'm not going to talk about any specific captain, because this post will just get long and it's 3:10 right now. I was saying that all of the captains use tactics to garner votes such as using their teammates emotions to garner votes. Shankar's only real crime is singing too much. Some of the other captains have shown acts of desperation for the sake of points, and it's just wrong. The trophy means nothing to them.

I agree, though. I love Anwesha and her singing. In fact, I think she's one of the best singers on the show or any reality show. However, there is a very blatant bias towards her by not only the judges, but also the audince and a lot of her obvious flaws are overlooked. But that's a topic for another time.

Also, it's not Shankar that doesn't have Shaan's fan-following; it's his team, which frankly, is kind of weak. Either way, that's the point, though. Shankar doesn't NEED a huge fanbase. He already has a solid career. He can find other forms of publicity. This is for the conestants, not for the judges, and I don't think even one of them realizes that. They're supposed to be gurus. I mean, it's like watching your teacher take the test with you.
